Am I the only one...

that is out of sorts?
...feeling like you're falling off the planet?
...choosing the wrong stall in the restroom?
...picking a new printer after hours of research that is not in stock online or in stores?
...squirting yourself in the eye with bug killer?
...getting in the wrong car AGAIN?
...standing in front of large glass doors that say EXIT waiting for them to open?
...staring at an online thread order that never gets ordered?
...seeing hornies and boxes and squares everywhere and wondering when the hell you'll get organized?
...calculating calories of the tall canister of cream cheese frosting that you ate with a spoon?
...wondering why she rudely says to shut-up in the KMart commercial?
...wondering if menopause can go into remission, play with your head, and then whack you upside it?
...getting distracted by a stink bug?

A stink bug.  Staring in wonder at an almost square and flat bug.  I don't know what's going on, maybe the season change and my woe at losing summer.  I posted recently about being distracted, but this is like being in a stupor.  Snap out of it!

As for the fricking Santa, problems problems.  This linen came out very nice from the dip, but something is not right.  For me, the threads look mauve and cool on this Gunmetal, even the warmer reds.  I can't seem to settle on a good shade and ordering overdyed online is a crap shoot.  I have several GAST reds and Mulberry looks the best, less of a pink-red.  DMC 221 blends nicely with it and I may mix in a few strands to ensure I will have enough.  Shown in the photo is the red I dyed twice and used on this project, but I removed it.  It looks good on everything else but not on this odd blue. My options are to test the Mulberry thread or start over on brown linen.  As soon as I'm aware of my surroundings and my eye stops burning from the bug spray.

The boys are enjoying the weather.  I'm enjoying a few bags of Dove but they were better dipped in the icing.

Have a good week.  Hope you pick the right stall.

Thanks for visiting.

Girl, you gotta get a hold of yourself! Things can't be that bad (except for your choice of floss)! Glad the boys are enjoying themselves.

I'm laughing because I know exactly the tall canister of frosting you're talking about! Frosting doesn't stand a chance in my house. I might have to put that on my grocery list for tomorrow! I know you'll dye the perfect color floss you're looking for and the boys are handsome kitties.

Marly, you need to get out with the boy kitties and relax. Spend a day on your swing and enjoy the weather before it gets cold.
I have faith that you'll find the perfect color for your Santa and he will be wonderful.
Peace !

I hope today is a better day. Yes, I think mentalpause can wreak havoc with our mind, over and over again.
Great pic of the kitties.
Hugs ;)

Ah....menopause. It's a beautiful thing, isn't it? I thought getting a period every month was bad. And let's not forget "perimenopause." I think I was in that stage for 25 years. I was lucky enough to keep getting a period until I was 58...menopause has been with me for 4 years, and half the time I don't know who I am. You are not alone.

I have faith that you will find the perfect red for your gun metal fabric, and that your Santa will turn out great! I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

P.S. Nothing wrong with chocolates dipped in icing!!

You're not alone. I mailed things the other day and came home with something I was supposed to mail. Trying to do too many things in a day!

Today will be a better day! I can tell the cooler weather is around the corner as the hummingbirds are disappearing and the stink bugs are re-appearing. Thinking of you!

Hi Marly, Hope things settle down for you soon. I know exactly what you mean about the stink bug. The home invasion is starting here in Maryland - just a few here and there. I really hope it isn't as bad as 2 years ago. I hate the drone of their wings as they fly around waiting to hit you between the eyes. Enjoy the first day of Fall - may it be a good one that keeps Winter at bay a good long time!

Marly: I am so sorry this list looks just like my life minus the bug spray, I love the fabric and the thread together but hey its me.
Love the cats sitting together, they look like they are ready to cause havoc.
I hate winter, here in Minnesota it gets really snowy icy and cold very cold.

Blessings

I've not gotten myself in the eye, but I have sprayed my entire front with bug spray. Did you know it can fade fabric a lot like regular cleaners can? Unfortunately, I've plenty of experience with that, too. I take a lot of comfort from a presenter on NPR saying that if you don't know where your car keys are, you're normal; it's when you can't remember what your car keys are for you have an issue. "I know what my keys are for" has become my mantra.

Hi Marly! I was having trouble with lots of things like this. My electrolytes were out of balance and vitamin D levels really low. After a week of taking vitamin D and being off a diuretic for blood pressure control I have more energy and I feel less confused and out of control. I really thought I might be losing it. At any rate, I thought it might be worth it for you to get tested. If you have these problems they are easily controlled and monitored. Good luck!

You and your trick questions LOL.... Of course it's not just you....Can't remember who else does things like that, but I'm sure it will come to me eventually. ;o) Seriously...that distraction thing is to the point of embarrassment.... How do you explain that you spent 6 hours putting away the scotch tape??? Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Dove dipped in cream cheese icing ... interesting, but I think I'd rather dip mine in nutella.

Out of sorts? I've only had my bitch hat on all week. Then I come home, go in the closet to hang up work slacks and when I come out there's 20 minutes or more missing. Yeesh, all I did was look at threads (charts, idea folders) for a few seconds!

Did you try that DMC red you were thinking of using for the Santa? I think it was the one you used on the sampler you just finished...? The hank of double overdyed you have sitting on the fabric looks nice, but I know that actually stitching it in makes a difference.

The boys look like a prettily arranged matched set. :)

Hello. Hope your eye is ok from the bug spray. The kitties look healthy and happy. I love that thread, the color is gorgeous. Menopause is a real pain, not fun.
