I felt a virtual hug! I'm not down, in fact, I'm giddy. When I realized the sign in front of me read Exit, I started giggling. When my husband gives me that what are you doing look, I start giggling. My knuckles really hurt when they were smacked into the edge of the stone, but I giggled. Still, your comments made me smile, and I am on a roll this morning.
Santa will be Mulberry and I will hit the Order button and send it through. Not taking into consideration his green bag, the coat's light trim, the light beard, was a big mistake. Once I looked at all the other colors involved (and changed), Santa will be just fine. The Magma is locked and loaded.
I am going through a bookcase with neat stacks of years of magazines and sending them to the recycler. I have every issue of Early Homes, most of Simple Life and Primitive Place. Holding on to those but will revisit and then sell off. (Do I really need to waste time going through them? No. Out.) That's progress. Getting rid of clutter and opening space always feels good too. Why Madam, I believe you deserve a chocolate for that. And if anyone is interested in cream cheese frosting, here's what I found. I always keep a canister of it on hand but much prefer the real deal. Last time I needed it, I also had Philly in the fridge, so I softened and added more than half a brick to half of the canister. Sooooo good. Less sweet more cream cheesy, I loved it. You can adjust the amount of Philly while you're blending and get the right taste for you. Easy peasy.
I have lots to do today - should be getting to it.
Thanks for visiting! And for being so sweet.

I have that problem with " Push/Pull" doors....There must be a secret to knowing which to do, right? Magazines are my downfall, I have every Early Homes and Primitive P,lace then add years of Early American Life to that. I did have all EAL from 1970 until I moved in 1993, i gave to a friend. Now I find myself on eBay buying these issues back. I know, but what can you do?
I just read yesteday's post and you've described my life to a "T". I've done all those things and then some. Love the changes you made to Santa, he will be a dashing fellow!
Hi Marly,
I am late in sending you my "virtual hug" but am so happy your feel refreshed and happy! Our online friends are really so important and I love getting those hugs, too!!!
Love your color choice and Santa will be wonderful!! That cream cheese frosting sounds A-MAZ-ING!!! Now I want some Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese frosting!!! Yumm!!!
Of course, chocolate IS a Girl's Best friend, I always say!!!
Enjoy your creative day, my friend!
Heart Hugs~

I think I originated the magazine hoarder club...I have EAL from its first issue...
how does one part with them?..don't ask me if I ever return to the earlier ones...
no time...so why? "You will never know when you might need one"....as Mother used to say about so many things ....ha! Thanks for today's chuckle. Marly, your Santa will look as resplendent as only you can create and color a Santa. Now I just added Pumpkin Spice Latte and cream cheese frosting to my shopping list...(thanks for the Philly addition idea) hanging around here can be risky..... Have a great day!
I had a really "off" day yesterday, too, Marly--I do think it is something with being in our 60s... So distracted much of the time. At work I am up and down from my desk a hundred times a day just running here or there to do tasks that just pop into my head. I'm sure my new (very young!) boss thinks "that old lady has a problem!" Just wait until she is our age :) Doing something like purging magazines/catalogs feels so good--think I'll do the same this afternoon!
Love your final decisions on Santa--he will look very spiffy!
It must be the weather... I was not especially cheery the last few days or weeks... but I also was stuck in the house, because it was raining! I snapped out of it day before yesterday, and actually resumed stitching! I EXPECT fall to be cooler, but nice enough to get out!! Cause we all know winter is too darn cold! So I EXPECT not to get out in winter (at least January and February)... but not most of September!! No use harping on it, as it is nothing I can control! Glad you are decided on a color of thread for Santa. That will help too! I LOVE frosting--most any flavor! Hugs!!
Looking forward to seeing the all spiffed up Santa! I bet he will be looking quite dapper. Thanks for the tip about adding cream cheese to the container of frosting! Enjoy the rest of your day!
Really? There are other people besides me who hoard magazines??? Ughh.... I still have every issue I ever received of Country Living.... Remember that one? One day I actually decided I was going to get rid of them and made it to the boxes in the basement (without getting distracted believe it or not) only to recall that in one of those 10 years worth of magazines there is the best recipe for homemade lemonade.... Now, how can I get rid of them?? Will I ever find it? Will I make it if I do find it? Heck...will I even LOOK? Nope...but their existence is now justified for another 25 years. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (OHHHH....I LOVE your Santa colors!!)
I'm glad you're a bit more upbeat....was worrying about you! Oh yes, cream cheese frosting...I don't need cake involved!!!!
Busy Hands...Happy Heart
Patricia
Marley- you crack me up!! Your honesty about life's stumbling bumps make it easier for all of us who do the same things but are too embarrassed to tell others! What is it about being in my mid 60s that suddenly dumb stuff just piles up all the time!??
Meanwhile I am soooo jealous of your blog friends who have proudly saved great old issues of EAL and Country Living. Why didn't I ever think about doing that?? So many times I have wished I had those old issues to just look at again! Phooey!
Your precise artist's eye will create a dapper of a Santa . That I have no doubt of!!
You deserve 2 chocolates! I am needing that pattern - I've admired her stuff guess I need to buy some!
Oh Marly I have that same problem with that dang button. As hard as I try it still begs to be pushed and I give in every dang time. Have fun looking thru the mags....I need to do that too.
Philly brand cream cheese is one of God's gifts to mankind. Well,,,, to Me anyway :-)
I 'zoomed in' on your fabric in the picture and am in love with the tones and colors and shading that you can't really see with a simple glance. Gorgeous!
A giggle a day keeps the doctor away -keep smiling Marly.
Santa looks great to me with the colors you choose.
Do enjoy your chocolade and I will have also a piece today.
Greetings Truus from Holland

Love the colors -- that red is gorgeous! I'm behind on blog reading as always. Hope the giggling continues. :D
