Heart progress

Good day to you.  Hope your weekend is peaceful.  I have the afternoon in a QUIET house, Mark is golfing.  If it's above 32, snow is off the course, they play.  For some reason, I still can't adjust to a schedule since having him home all the time.  The only time I can get my butt in gear and clean the house, organize, declutter, is when I am alone.  So that's the plan for this afternoon, and then make sticky chicken again.  He loves it, we just had it, but wants it again.  Very simple with a touch of paprika, clove and cinnamon.

So here's the heart progress.

I am still having issue with the very dark fabric so I opted for my comfortable linen and I believe it's 28 count.  This will be a little larger but that's OK.  Changing thread colors here and there to accommodate the linen, simplified some of the motifs to a solid color, and changed a few positions slightly. I raised the birds because I want the heart cleavage a little deeper, narrowed the center tree and the bird cage. I prefer long thin heart shapes and doubt these minor changes can achieve that, but even just a few stitches can make a difference. It will be a nice heart to frame with a mat, but I will sew it and hang it from the iron hook I installed on my interior doors.  Really happy with that idea, so easy to move things and the larger sewn finishes are the perfect size for doors.

Tomorrow, taking Carole for her echocardiogram and I'm sure she will have other errands for me.

Have a great week!
Thanks for visiting.

Hi Marly: Loads of stitching done, this is such a sweet design, I do like the color fabric you chose.
We live on a Golf Course, I can remember two Decembers where we had no snow and golfers out all day.
Weatherman says ice storm tonight, we will se, I hope it miss's Minnesota.
I hope Carole has a good echo tomorrow.

Blessings
Catherine

Western Pa weather! No wonder we get confused:) I am on year 4 with the retiree. I agree it is really hard to maintain a schedule. Mine doesn't golf. Have mercy on me! You are really prolific with your work. I admire your perseverance. Maybe it will rub off!

Love the changes your making on the heart I always get to lazy and just stitch things as graphed.

I too do my best work when I am alone in my home. Since my husband has been out of work, I totally understand your predicament. I am looking forward to seeing the finish on that pretty work.

I too can not clean when there is someone here. Like to do it all by my lonesome, my own way, my own time. LOL

You have to accept the fact that you like to design as much as you like to stitch. Just stitching is not enough to satisfy your creative juices.

Have a great snow free week.

Used to work with a group of men who were avid golfers--they played in the snow, they painted their golf balls black so they could find them in the snow

I love the way the heart is coming along. I hope all goes well with Carole's appointment. By the way, having a retired husband takes a bit of adjustment. After 13 years, I'm ok but do enjoy a day when he goes out.

I hope you and yours had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and are having a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. May we display your linked header on our new site directory, SiteHoundSniffs.com? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the linked header will attract more attention.

I love how this is looking! What fun would stitching be if we didn't change anything, ever? I hope everything went well for Carole.

I've been thinking that having Mark home (retired) would make a difference in your day. I don't clean or do much of anything when my kids are home.
Which ever way you stitch the designs on your heart........it's going to look wonderful. Will enjoy seeing it when finished.
I hope all will go well with Carole today. She is soooo blessed to have your continuous attention and help.
Thinking of you.

Lovely design. I knew someone who mentioned continuing to work as the idea of being at home with their husband all day might be a bit too much together time. My husband is the one at home will I work and I don't mind it except I do not have time for stitching or quilting but occasionally. Having us both at home all day certainly would be distracting. You are very busy! And that can be a good thing.

Your heart is looking wonderful. Know what you mean about retired husbands - still getting used to it after four years but it is nice to just pick up and go when we want too - hope Carole's appt goes well 😊
