Floss. I have a nice floss box, stuffed. I have a bag of each color in a cupboard. No longer do I want to keep these boxes of extras. I will never use it all and am tired of storing it. So I am emptying each envelope, some are full skeins, some are used, many are multiples, some colors are missing. But I am sorting into two piles, putting in a bag, and will check shipping costs for them. I hope this task doesn't take an entire day because my patience (unlike my behind) is very thin.
The Mr. Big Santa? His fill is weighty to stand upright, over 7#. The extra large box (higher cost) was over a pound not including the boxing fill. Shipping to mid west was $45 and if the box was any larger it would jump to $63 from my zip code, so he is staying in PA. The floss would fit in a regular sized box and I will check on those costs before determining their fate.

I'm happy that the beautiful Santa is staying with you. He's a treasure.
Have a lovely weekend.
Charlotte in Va.
Glad Santa is staying with you. Last year I finally got a handle on my DMC floss, over a few months on Ebay I bought wooden DMC storage boxes, I have six. It was fun getting the floss in numerical order ( wishing i had a child in the house) they love stuff like that. I now sit in front of the stacked boxes like I work retail and pick up needed floss. I admit I did toss small really thin skeins away. Why was I saving them anyway ? My other floss is still on rings (Weeks and Sampler arts etc) but I feel like I have accomplished something anyway.
If you get any more organized I might fall into a deep depression on the state of my own craft life. I have a lot of "stuff". Not ready to part with most of it yet. I am giving away magazines and patterns to new quilting friends. Did sort through some of my fabric and gave it away. But oh baby I do have more to sort thru. I just recently took up stitching again so am not heavy in that department. But I am sure over the next couple of years I will be adding to my stash.
Glad you are keeping your Santa. He is such a handsome one.
Postage rates are so out of hand. I spend way too much sending things to my grand kids in Alabama. If possible I have things sent directly to them!! Much cheaper!
I love Mr. Big....but EEEEK those are some BIG shipping costs. Things have just gotten nutty crazy. My DMC is (sorta) under control.... I have them all on the little cards in plastic storage boxes (now I read there are wood ones!! Well, what the heck...on the hunt I go LOL).... Spares and ones I picked I up for projects never gotten around to are in a baggie...someplace...that grows like Mr. Big.... I'm ok with that though...it's the Weeks and Gentle Arts, etc. that send my OCD into overdrive....just not a good way of storing that stuff neatly and having it organized at the same time (or....is there something in that regard that I am missing out on too???) Have fun...hope it wasn't all day.... Robin
Have you checked Priority Flat Rate boxes? As long as Santa can fit into a box, it doesn't matter how much he weighs.
I admire you for getting all this stuff done. I have stuff I need to clear out, but do I do it? Nope!
