Simple finish

Decided on a mini pillow.  Even though this is a primitive sampler in content and style, the colors are too light for a pouch.  Don't know what difference that makes, but my other sacks are darker and this looked too delicate.  From the beginning, I wanted to use a lighter linen for this project and it would have looked more primitive with either dark linen or much darker threads.  But for some reason, I just couldn't envision it.

It looks good hanging with the drieds, but I may change the stair railing display from baskets to stitchery.

I like the pillows added to hand rail, how very clever! My goodness you had snow, not here in RI just a tremendous wind storm. Have a good weekend.

Hi Marly,
It is really sweet as a pillow and I love it with those drieds, but then saw the hand rail idea and it looks wonderful there, too!! Such a nice way to dress up a stair rail with either idea! You could even alternate them!!!
Can't believe all that SNOW!!!! Bet I know where the kitties are!!!
Stay safe and warm, my friend!

Glad to hear that you're excited to make something. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. The sampler turned out beautiful...of course and I too loved those little boxes by Pineberry Lane. I'm working on one of her samplers right now. Snow! Yuk!! Isn't this late for you to be getting it? I so look forward to real summer weather. We had temps in the 40's last week and there were motorcycles out everywhere and people out walking & talking. But we had -7 this morning. I want to pack the Cuddle Duds away. Are the kitties in the house snuggling where they aren't suppose to be?

Your snow is beautiful. We've had just flurries. :(
Love your sampler pillow.....I think it looks nice either way.
March is really coming in like a lion. I hope the lamb will take it out..
Have a cozy weekend.

Hi Marley, Who'd a thunk it? You, of course! The stair rail treatment is genius! I love it, and will be a copycat as soon as I get my act together. Thanks so much for the idea. And your pillow is nothing to sneeze at, either!

So sweet! Our snow is slowly melting even as I type.

Finishing it as a hangable pillow makes it much more versatile. And even though I'm dull as dirt and would simply have framed it, it looks marvelous on the banister bracket - cool idea!

Love the pillow as a railing ornament among the berry vine... Love the subtlety of the color combinations...You have understatement spot on....

The piece looks great as a hanging pillow. I see the snow, we have had a very nasty winter and I'm sick of it! It seems rain, snow and cold that's the story.

Love the delicate colors and background linen. I wish I had the patience to cross stitch. I really do.
