The difference between crabby and snotty

Had to take Carole early this morning back to her doc, pain became much worse, traveled to the shoulder, he wanted to check her heart.  Carole talked to him personally and he left orders with the front desk to put her in a room as soon as she arrives.  We wait, we wait, until I blast the snotty bitch that handles the front desk.  I've had enough of her attitude for the last few years.
Snotty is being rude and disrespectful, crabby is a generalized nasty attitude.  Mostly I am a crab but there are times when I am a crabby snot.  I can relate to hassles in medical settings, but she is always rude and there is no place for that when dealing with the public.

It happens that her meds were filled and sitting on a counter yesterday, but with inept and useless employees from office staff error to pharm techs laziness, no one took the time to actually check.  We didn't know this until today when I took the new written scripts in.  I wasn't snotty.  I wasn't crabby.  I was full on bitch slap.

She is feeling better already after two rounds of the meds, is still in terrible pain, but no longer nauseous and in tears.  After three nights of no sleep at all, she was able to take a nap.  And my three days of her appointments and errands are finished and I can concentrate on the guests coming.

So here's the stitching plan.  I doubt there will be any time for it but I'm trying to line up a few choices so I can start right back in.  You know I've been having a pretty long slump and smalls were my only desire.  I am considering a large sampler, working on it a little each week so as not to get discouraged.  (Mary Elliott at left)
I thought it would be a good idea to choose and kit the linen with many of these larger projects, but all my yardage is 28 and 30 and I am preferring the higher count and single thread.  But since I have the linen, I should use it.

Another contender is Sarah Harvey.

Things change often with me, and the look of an entire wall of samplers that I aspire to, no longer tickles me.  I prefer seeing one or two which allows notice.   Too many to see at one time is striking and a great focal point, but their detail and verse is lost in the mass.  My view is contrary to most stitchers' displays, but it's my current view which may last anywhere from a month to two years.

Hopefully when I return in a few weeks, I'll have a project started and something to share.
Take care and enjoy the start of spring!
Back in April.

I agree with your sampler wall comments. I have never liked them because I can't concentrate on one thing. I think I miss a lot.

I'm glad things are improving finally for Carole and for you. Such incompetence and rudeness is just unforgivable. Have a good time with your guests.

I'm glad things are better for Carole. What a pain you both put up with. Good for you for getting "crabby" I'd say they all were lucky that was all they got! Love all the choices. Enjoy your guests!

You were not being crabby. You were not being snotty. You were simply applying the Big Stick o' Truth, otherwise known as a Clue by Four, against some rather empty heads. Otherwise, how will they ever learn?

There is simply no need for rudeness or incompetence in a place where sick people need to go. My family has had to deal with the same situation. Am glad Carole is feeling better.
I'm happy you're thinking about stitching something big. Have a great time with your guests.
Happy Spring !

Anne Spence is my favorite.
Join the club Marly...I find as I get older I have less patience with rudeness and ignorance. A little common sense goes a long way. Glad your sis is doing better. She is blessed to have you.

Have a pleasant day, enjoy and Peace for ALL, Barb

I am happy to hear that Carole was able to get some rest and is beginning to feel a bit better. Enjoy the time with your guests and see you when you return.

Glad to hear that Carole is doing better. Not to defend her but I have been on the other side of the desk for 20+ years and it is difficult to make everyone happy. Sometimes Doctors promise things that are impossible to do. There is no open room at yet the Dr say put patient in room right away....Anyway the Rx mess is was unnecessary and should have been dealt with better than it was. Enjoy your company, April still seems so far away, but before you know it I will be complaining about the heat!

I read so much of myself in this post; from dealing with needlessly rude people to your changing tastes. So nice to see I'm not alone ;)

I really really like the Ann Spence. Lovely sampler. I hope you get some rest too and not just your sister. I know what you mean about a wall of samplers. Used to think that is what I would do and now I see pictures of just one or two in a photograph of a room and see how it makes that one really stand out. Maybe liking that look means I need to rotate out the pictures so I don't get bored?

Love the Ann Spence! Sorry about your sister's ordeal. I hate when I'm treated rudely by a public service person. I'm glad you let her have it. I hope your sister improves quickly. Now you NEED to RELAX and enjoy your company. I hope you have a wonderful visit filled with laughter.Bitch Slap will now be added to my favorite terms. Too funny!

At least Carole's getting some relief and headed toward healing. Sorry you had to deal with such rudeness! Hope your company time is good.....

I'd pick Ann Spence, but all your "possibles" are interesting as well as pretty.

Hi Marly: I am so sad this is happening to Carole, and you as the care giver, some people are just plain nasty and need to have a reality check, maybe that snotty thing at the desk need an attitude adjustment.
Love your Samplers, I would have a hard time choosing one of them.
I hope the two weeks go by fats I will miss your posts.

Blessings
Catherine

I have made sure that my doctor knows when his/her staff is nasty or inefficient. I have also changed doctors because of that. I no longer suffer in silence and have finally found a whole range of doctors who rarely make me wait more than 15 to 20 minutes. I realize that may not be an option when dealing with a doctor that you have had for a long time, but well done for speaking up. I think the care improves when we demand it. That goes for the pharmacy also.
I like the idea of showcasing individual samplers. I am looking forward to seeing which one you decide to work on.

Glad Carole is doing better. I've been know to be in bitch slap mode a few times with some rude, snotty medical staff as well. Enjoy your company.
