Thank you

for all your kind words, offered prayers, and best wishes.  Chiropractor three mornings in a row, still miserable and will be for weeks.  I told him no more until next week because in and out of the car is excruciating. Orthopedic appointments are available (weeks from now) and no PT until a doctor orders.  I can sit, no more than 10 minutes at a time, the pain and strain from trying to rise takes an hour to ease.  So.  Mark is out getting things for Easter brunch (cold smoked kielbasa, ham, fresh oatmeal bread, Hawaiian rolls, cwikla, eggs, swiss cheese and our pepper butter.  Everything can be sliced and ready to put out, no dinner to prepare.  Carole is making one for her grandkids and we are invited afterward to give the crew their new shoes.   Maybe, maybe not.

The SANQ downloads offered a while back contained this little primitive red sampler, Flora Dellow.  With all the back aids and pillows around me (that mesh lumbar support is from heaven) trying to stitch several colors would be frustrating. Flora offers another simple monochromatic design, good for a crabbeast.  The dividing bands are ecru, not sure what I will do with them.

Wishing everyone a joyous Easter.

Back problems seem to have become a given sooner or later...that
so many can relate to yours, indicates a blissful $$$future for
chiropractors, etc. Hope you can get a muscle relaxant into your
system to ease you through weekend activities.. Your brunch sounds
delicious. So glad you can distract with stitching. It looks as though
rest and a slower pace will be more beneficial than contortions
back and forth to the Dr. Hope you get all the attention and care
you need for a lasting recovery.

I love your blog and I have never commented before. So, so sorry to hear about your back. I have had back issues in the past and the 1 thing that truly helped were muscle relaxers. Pain meds make you not have pain but they wear off and nothing is better. The muscle relaxers make the muscles...relax and, as a wonderful side effect, there is blessed sleep. I am very sensitive to meds so I only took 1/2 a pill to start and never had to up the dose. Only used at night but day by day I got better.
Take care and have a lovely Easter!

I am so sad that you are suffering through this. Seems like this should be considered an emergency and an orthopaedic doctor would need to see you right away!? My mother always made Cwikla at Easter along with what we called Easter cheese or Cirak in Slovak. As a kid I thought it looked good but upon tasting it, it was kind of bland. I might need to start making it and cwikla as a nice way to honor her memory. I am sending healing thoughts your way.

I was hoping that things were getting easier for you but sounds like you need to double up on the dark chocolate meds to help you get thru it. Can't believe that you are stitching while in so much pain.....I'm a whimp!

I sure wish I could help some how. You are so giving of yourself and now you could use some giving back to you. I hope you survive Easter. Don't push it and let others take care of it and you. Cyber hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery.

I found that very hot showers and a heating pad works for me in between chiro appointments. Also the thermal pads that you can put on your back.
Hubby's go-to thing is a pool. He leans on his elbows in the corner of the pool and lets his body "fall down" in the water. Occasionally at home, he leans on the corner of the kitchen counter, bends his knees and attempts the same thing. He is tall enough that it isn't as effective but gives some relief.
Ask the chiro for something small to do between appointments.
Hubby and I understand the pain.

Jackie
