I sold them soooooooooooooo long ago that I don't remember how I finished them. I'm assuming since that was the paint period, I must have done a little Christmas theme on top and sold them as ring boxes. Probably why one has a green base with red paint over.
The other five I decided to do white and age them. The wood is a little rough and gives them a nice look when sanded. I've never done anything in white but I think it's perfect for this little box.
They need a pad down at the bottom, some wax, and they're done. Better than burning. Perfect size for a ring or thimble, maybe a special coin. The lid is attached by a small dowel and swivels to open. Cute huh??? Much better in person.
I'll be gone for a few days. We're buying coveralls and hats and sanding the house this week since the painter is AWOL. My right hand is so stiff and painful that I seriously doubt there will be any keyboard smacking. My ankles are the same, worse than ever, mostly from the sprains (another negligence I regret not pursuing). Tylenol does nothing and I really miss taking Advil. Getting old!! Another birthday this month, happy to be here and able to crab about it.
Hope your week goes well!

The boxes are pretty. Sorry you are so sore. I agree I have osteoarthritis all over and Tylenol does nothing for it. I cant take Advil either it kills my stomach. Hope you are better soon. I agree at least getting a year older we are here to crab about it! Haha
Those sweet little heart boxes are adorable! I can't believe you kept them that long....I'm terrible for purging and pitching and then later am mad as Hell because I got rid of it!!! Hope you have luck painting and scaping...that's a horrible job! You just can't find good, dependable help anymore!
Girl you need to slow down and have some you time.
If I drive by and your sanding can you give me a tour of the inside? Giggles
I bet you hate me now so sorry I just had to add the drive by comment.

VERY nice! Take it easy my friend.
I love the little box! Glad you kept it. Wish I could be there to help with the house. I ate M&M's yesterday. Maybe I could walk there. Be careful with your hands. Aging can be a mixed blessing. Glad you are here to celebrate it. Hugs.
I know all about aging aches and pains but like you, I am glad to be here to complain about them. good luck with the sanding job. Be careful, I ended up quite sick for sanding and all the dust. My sweet Dr. said, "If I didn't know your husband, I might think he was trying to kill you."
Take care sanding. This growing old is not for sissies.
Such sweet little heart boxes!
Cute little heart box! I'll be thinking of you this week as you work on your siding.
Love those sweet boxes, Marly! And please don't push yourself too hard with the sanding--at least the weather has cooled off for it :)
