kind of cute.
The only trick to this is marking a linen thread with a Frixion pen or pulling a thread out for a straight stitching line to follow. When you remove threads for fringing, you need to have it even so the fringe doesn't go up into the stitching on one side and several rows down on the other. Am I explaining it correctly? Pinning it while lining up the backing linen with the front makes sure it's all straight and there won't be a problem when fringing. Or do what I did, wing it. Close enough.
Same size, which do you like more?

So pretty, and I love the fringe.
Definitely fringed.
Both are pretty!
Marly; the fringe is unique and interesting- i like it alot. but, i LOVE the green one for its color and content. if you are interested in selling it, please let me know!
Love them both. The fringe is pretty unique (in a good way - lol), but I, too, would go with the green one.
It looks wonderful. That is how I cut several fabrics (including linen and Aida) at the fabric store -- by pulling a thread and cutting along that line.
Both nice, but the fringed stands out and looks homespun.
I prefer the no fringe look..
I like the fringe 👍
Loving the fringe!
The fringe is great! Such a different look and it totally works.
Loving the fringe also Geneviève
Don’t make me choose. I really love the fringe....even more than I though I would (kinda reminds me of the tucks done with the chenille trim around them...without the hassle of sewing all that trim on).... That being said, I think they look most perfect together....one compliments the other so very well...and that’s exactly how I would display them...together. LOVE! Smiles & Monday Hugs ~ Robin
You know you will never get a consensus. I prefer the plain edge, no fringe.
I happen to be stitching this now in a navy blue color and I love it. I had planned to frame it but I really like what you did with yours!
Like them both but the one without the fringe a bit more.
Have a great day

I'm loving the one with the fringe. Think I will do my Christmas ornies the same way.
I hear that you're going to get more snow this weekend. Be careful !

I love the fringe, but that has to be a lot of extra work, though worth it. This coming from someone who does cross-stitch and hasn't a clue how to finish any of them, so they sit in a drawer. So enjoy your blog, Marly.
I love the red with the fringe!
Fringe looks great! I have never tried that!
