Snowmageddon

It started bad

and ended worse.

So I did a little hand sewing.

These sweet pouches were made from linen banding  and never really finished.  I hand sewed muslin lining inside and then the side seams for the finish.
Both will be included in the next sale which I hope will be this week.  Jury duty leaves the entire week in limbo, or jail, depending on my mouth.

Will need to find the week's location of the pacemaker testing because Carole is wanting her rate changed back to static.  Normal rates are around 65 for resting which increases during movement.  Since hers starts at 80, she is going well over one hundred when moving which makes her breathless.  Her walking rate is my exercising rate and that's not going to work.  I'm thinking her weight may cause more vibration and falsely indicate she is moving faster than she actually is, causing the device to increase even more.  They need to lower the base to 70 if she can handle that or set her back to constant 80.  We shall see!  Mark will be driving me to the duty which is about a half hour away, the parking is a distance from the courthouse and with two feet of snow, not good.  So hopefully this will be done with and we'll both be free to take her wherever we need to.

Hope your weekend is going well.
Thanks for visiting!

I hate jury duty...while most thinks it's our civic duty, I feel it's a civic nuisance! I was called up for it in October and made it to the last round of questioning by the DA and the PA....thank God....the DA saw me "smiling" and I was excused...YAY!!! They pay $30/day...parking cost me $15, not to mention the gas going downtown...70 years old never looked so good!

Our snow storm started as snow but by 4 am changed to rain. Husband was out at 8:30 moving the slush before it freezes. Luckily a neighbor helped him out! I think everyone should serve jury duty, it is our right as a citizen. It is a wonderful learning experience not at all like silly shows on TV. I have been called three times. I was impressed last time an elderly gentleman was told he could be excused because of his age and he was quite offended! He served.

Oh, you really did get hit, Marly--what a difference 55 miles makes! Glad you could keep cozy with your pretty hand stitching, though--more today, I'm sure.

Hope the pacemaker problems get resolved soon. And good luck with jury duty... I haven't been called in a while--feel like that will change, soon!

I have never gone for jury duty, was caring for my parents when I was requested...now I have to per to often to be useful! Carole sure has been under a black cloud for a while, hope the pacemaker problem can be quickly fixed...
I'm stuck at the hospital..worked a double and roads are still too bad to drive from Salem to Boardman...

This weather is really throwing the wrench into travel...
Hope Carole's timer can be adjusted to a comfortable setting, bless her.
What a serene picture, Marly hand stitching while snug in the quiet that
comes from a snowfall...OR building up a rant or rave for the upcoming case.
In either instance, relax and have a quiet Sunday.

You got hit much worse than we did. I heard our official total was 7". The wind is the problem. Thankfully things are supposed to improve Tuesday. The furbabies are not happy.
Hopefully they can get Carole's issues resolved. She sure has had many roadblocks to feeling good.
Stay safe. Lucky that hubby can drive you to jury duty.

Hope they are able to figure out a good workable setting for Carole's pacemaker. Best of luck to you with jury duty! Your little bag finish is darling, Marly! I will take your snow if would will take the rain we have had.

I wanted to serve on a jury but never even made it to the first round. We only got rain most of yesterday until the temperatures dropped. Then my 7 lb pup Oliver had a hell of a time trying to poop in that wind and icey snow. He kept coming back in before being finished only having to go back out 10 minutes later. Thank you for sharing about Carole.

I hope an adjustment can be made for Carole that will be just right. Those things are tricky.
You really did get hit with the snow. Pretty but so cold.
We had strong wind here in my neighborhood but no snow nor rain.
It is frigid this morning.
Love your little heart pouch. Soo pretty.
I did jury duty one time......that was enough for me. Case was settled out of court.
I'm glad Mark can take you......and drop you off at the door ? Hope you don't have to walk in that snow.
Bundle up and have a good week.
Hugs,

Well, had I read ahead (yeah, I’m too anal for that), I would have known the adjustment didn’t work as hoped. Yikes....I just can’t imagine having something mechanical do my beating for me. And that’s a heck of a lot of snow, even by standards here in Nod.... We are supposed to get some tomorrow...but last I heard they said only like 6”....then we will be tossed into the really deep deep-freeze...with highs in the negative digits by week’s end. Hmmmmm....the weekend’s races may likely be minus one fan LOL.... Hope you don’t end up in contempt...I’m too far away to be of any effective counsel LOL..... Robin
