I decided on a trim color for the what once was a dining room. Not sure what this very small room will be, maybe with its good light, a place to stitch. But after tossing around solid white everywhere, I decided on two shades. I still prefer a colonial look with trim being a different shade than the walls, and don't want to overpower the small rooms with darker colors. Besides, I have too many favorites in beige/tan/neutral. My nephew's son painted three bedrooms with my changes! So I started today with White Duck for the trim, White Dove (with a little less yellow tint) for the walls, both very neutral without yellow or pink. There is a subtle difference in the whites which shows well enough to not be a solid white room. Farmhouse is fabulous with all white, as is traditional and colonial if there is plenty of trim and moulding, but neither apply to my house. No looking back, I burned the paint sample cards. Once all the dark is covered, it may be too light for me, but I welcome a change, and whatever it is, it's fricking paint. Get over it!!
I also ordered the DMC color guide. Because. That's all I got. How can I find the new colors for possible substitutions when my JoAnn selection is limited? I can't stitch without changing a few colors! Besides, in store lighting makes the floss look very different. They are grouped by color family in this new guide and I will no longer have to go back and forth with my supplement cards.
The rain has stopped and this is day two of sun so I am working on the flowers and repotting into liners for buckets and tubs. Rain and storms for the next few days are possible so best get my large rear in gear.
Have a great day!!

I love white paint, when I went and bought paint for the bedroom I asked and made sure the girl (40Plus woman) understood what I wanted no yellow tint used in the paint, do you think she listened nope the puke.
Anyhoo, it always feels good to have new paint on the wall.
It will be storming here in the early morning hours, nice and 80 today.

Another beautiful day in northern Ohio but that will probably end tomorrow. I may never get the flower beds cleaned up at the rate I am going.
I like the whites...but I do like that tan/beige in the first photo....and now you’re going to tell me that’s the before and what you are changing, aren’t you? Sorry, but I have always loved painted trim and envy those who make it work.... You’d have to see our house to know why it wouldn’t....There is a LOT of wood all over...but it lends a symmetry that painting would mess with. That’s all I got. Have fun with your new color card....see, life is much easier when you aren’t adventuresome enough to change things up....I just follow the “called-for” colors....and regret when I see others’ changes. We had rain overnight (again) and then an unexpectedly pleasant and warmish day....Tomorrow, however, the nosedive begins.... rain, rain, rain, wind...and temps back in the 40’s.... I looked at the forecast through the end of the month and I think it called for rain except for 1 day...and that was “more clouds than sun” and wind. Geesh....I am seriously considering boycotting planting anything this year. By the time it warms up, we will be ready for frost. ~Robin~
Not planting anything this year......all of my perennials are doing beautifully. Have some summer chrysanthemums that reseeded and are coming up everywhere. Just leaving them.....makes my garden bigger. Have lots of coral bells and columbine too.
Want to power wash my deck and maybe stain it......$$$$. Still no job for son.
Grass needs to be cut today before we get more rain. Going to be 90 on Sunday. UGH !
Have a beautiful weekend.
Hugs,

Hooray for paint decisions! Just going by the color names, of course, but the room ought to come out quite pretty in its new clothes.
Enjoy your new DMC color card! I'm still muddling with my note-filled old old one along with a paper printed version that gives at least some idea.
