Before and almost after

Baseboard is not removed, still the old color.  Wainscot is not installed.  But here are a few snaps of the before and almost after.

The blue hutch - not sure if I will use black latch bar closures or knobs.

The built in cupboard.  The dark strip at the very bottom is the original color.  I knew if I laid there to paint it, I would not get up.  Will wait until we're painting the wainscot and do it then, suffer once rather than twice.  Thinking of using a flat dolly, laying on it, and have Mark push me around the room with the paint brush angled perfectly.

The entire room.

The before, already pared down several times.

I still love the darker colonial colors!  But I am happy with the change.  Deciding which samplers or wood pieces will go on the walls won't happen until the other small room is finished.

Have a great Friday!!

Maybe you should talk Mark into doing the low-lying paint jobs for you. Looks good so far. Think I'd go for the black latches on the small doors rather than knobs.

Marly: You are one busy lady, this is one beautiful room.
I would love to see your husband pushing you along as you paint, you always make me smile when you post.

Love the new look of the room -very light.
Why doesn't Mark paint the low down pieces so you will not stiff after painting.
Enjoy your new room and have a great weekend

After seeing the photos I always want to get rid of "stuff". Then where would I put it so I just do nothing. I love the simpler look, but wish someone else would do it.

Had you not said anything about the very bottom of the cupboard,it would be a long time before I'd have noticed. I think being pushed along to paint it sounds like a good idea. I'd be tempted to try the mechanic's creeper from the garage (you can push yourself in all directions) but I think those metal wheels would do some serious damage to the floor, or at least the finish. I had to giggle about Mark and the whites - even though I know about the gajillion different whites, I still get surprised at how some of them change.

Please post a video of Mark pushing you around on the cart to paint the baseboards- cant wait to see that one :-) Seriously; the room looks terrific! all of that agony over choices and decision making has been worth it!
