Change of plans

Just found out I am getting house guests again in two days.  Tuesday will be all day in the Clinic so I have lots to do in a short period of time.  I am moving up the giveaway to Tuesday night at 8pm instead of Wednesday.  Doesn't look like many of you are interested so I may not even need Random.

I am also offering a free year to Country Home magazine which I get for a friend upon my renewal.  That will be next week, remind me please!!

And if anyone can give me some advice on products for hair loss, I'm all ears.  My once thick coarse head of wild hair has been falling out this past year and is continuing.  Handfuls.  So upsetting, been tested, no answers.  The top is actually see through to the scalp and is getting worse, Toppix helps the look but I need to do something before it's gone.  Been taking Biotin and D3 and B's for many months.  I know of women that used Rogaine, one had more loss and no growth, another stopped it and became worse than before.  Next step - I am considering an appointment with a follicular transplant doctor if it doesn't stop.

If you still want to enter the Henry offer, please do so on this post only...

Enjoy your day.

My hair has gotten super thin over the years and because it’s white it looks even thinner. I’ve found nothing that helps except products that make it look a bit thicker, like certain shampoos that give body. I do use a powder that I buy at the beauticians that is white and is sprinkled lightly on the scalp to keep the pink of my skin from being so glaring. It also comes in a brown/Black. It isn’t to grow hair, just to minimize the color of your scalp from showing through. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll look up the name. Blessings, Marlene

I've been through the "gobs of hair" down the drain and on the floor thing... and the main culprit was Ferritin. That's how much iron your body is storing. My level was down to 30... hair loss starts at 70, so it's best to try to keep levels above 90 to stop losing and then regrow hair. If you've already had Ferritin, Iron levels and Iron saturation tested....then I apologize for being redundant...*blush*

Looks like many of us have your problem. When I shattered my L1 vertebrae 4 years ago,and the resulting surgery, I had lots of hair loss. The lady who cuts my hair said it was just my bodies response to stress. I have no cure but maybe a reason. You have gone through a lot in the recent months. The loss has slowed down but not stopped.

My hair has been getting thinner for many years. I don't guess chemo and/or radiation and surgery helped at all and through in some stress too.
I find if I get my hair cut shorter it looks fuller at least in the mirror. Can see my scalp when I look in a mirror behind me.
My hair is baby fine and longer now than usual. Would love to get it cut someday soon when the budget allows.
I've seen an ad on TV for a cap to wear (the cap has some kind of light in it) that is supposed to help hair growth. Don't know whether is works or not.
Enjoy your company and hope Carole is doing okay.

Try the supplement Biotin. I use 5 mg daily. With your chronic issues, you should check with a pharmacist or your doctor to be sure there are no contraindications or interactions. Good luck. ...jan

I was 63 when my super thick hair began falling out. I was in denial for at least a year. A new hairdresser mentioned the bald spots I didn't even know I had!
I have had full panels of blood work for deficiencies, hormone levels, etc. I take lots of supplements, vitamins and hormones. Nothing has helped. I too was told it was stress.
What little MAY be coming back in is so thin it doesn't cover the scalp. I've even lost at least 50% of my eyebrows.
With all the ads out there for hair loss all of a sudden it must be a universal 'boomer' thing. I am going to try to find a makeup that will cover the pink scalp problem and wear a hat outside at all times to keep my scalp from sunburn.
I wish all of you the best!

I just saw the last sentence about going to see a follicle transplant doctor. I've been told the plasma injections into the bare areas seems to have the most positive results. Expensive so I haven't gone that route. As I understand they use your own blood, spin the plasma free and inject it.

Talking about hair ... mine too, but it is also getting curly. I have always had 'poker straight' hair, fine but lots of it. Not so much anymore and I do not like competing with that curly/wavy stuff. It has a mind of it's own.
Hoping and praying for the best for Carol. As we get older those crosses become very heavy to bare...
I am looking for my bridge, I always said "I'll cross that bridge when I get to it". Haaa, hope I find it soon.

Have a great day my friend, with Peace for ALL,
Barb
