Henry's new home

I didn't use Random, just strips of folded paper this time.  I grabbed, unfolded, and Truus was written inside.  If you're still in the Netherlands, I have your address.  Thanks to all for entering.

Carole had no improvement in her heart function so he increased meds and added another.  We will take her back in three weeks and six weeks.  Mark was on a golf outing this past weekend in North Carolina.  They drove 12 hours all night, the condo wasn't ready until 3pm, and they never got to take a quick nap before golfing 36 holes.  Three days later they drove the 12 hours again, so today's four hours in the car and all the walking at the Clinic has him totally exhausted.  We took her to dinner on the way home (it's her birthday), came home and changed clothes, hit the sofa, and struggled to keep our eyes open.  The phone rang.  Our house guests are already in town instead of Thursday.  So we will be darn busy with the sudden visit and meals, I may not get to the post office this week Truus.  I will let you know when it is mailed.

Thanks for your advice on the hair issue.  Sharon thank you for the info on Ferritin.  Mine is low but the accepted levels with this lab are 8 -220 so it wasn't caught.  At 40, it may be a contributing factor but my doctor said no supplements, get the iron from plant based foods (she pushes the diet constantly).  I already eat the majority on the list she suggested so I will look into a supplement on my own.  Also will start Viviscal which contains zinc, another low number, and check into Saw Palmetto.  I use a powdered product called Toppix to fill in the shiny scalp.  I tried other brands and like this one best.  Redkin also makes several products for texture and thickening hair appearance which my cousin loves.  Thanks again!!

  Have a great week everyone!

As to the hair loss, I have had the same thing and have had some success with a shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment called Nioxin. There is a number system according to whether your hair is coloured etc. I would recommend it. It is worth a try. I am in Australia, but once when visiting the USA I saw it in a large supermarket. It would have been nice to have some good heart news for Carole on her birthday. I guess not getting worse will have to be the good news? Please take care (ALL of you), tho I'm sure you know all too well that getting too tired and worn out kicks you in the arse health-wise.

For whatever it is worth Folicure shampoo and conditioner were quite effective...I
imagine it is such a personal thing, that professional analysis is the way to go.
I recall my Mother recommending Marrow Oil for an uncle who was losing hair and it
was restored with faithful use of that product. Don't know if it is still available.
A blessing that Carole is not worse and best of wishes for her Birthday...

Marly: I hope Carole is getting better with the new med increase, happy birthday to her.
I started a few years ago using Biotin, my hair after 6 months started to get thicker, I do take an iron pill small dose, iron can do so much damage if too much is taken, plus it is great for finger nails.
Have a lovely day.

Hope things are going well with the house guests and that Carole is getting better too. Hair loss -- mine isn't as thick as before either. I keep getting ads on instagram for stuff for hair loss. Nutrio? Something like that. And another one too. let us know if you find a solution.

Marly, I've been really behind on blog reading, but am getting caught up today. Love reading your posts about Petey, and I'm glad he's back and getting into the shelter.

No idea what to tell you about the hair loss, but I hope the suggestions from others are helpful. Keep up your efforts on eating a good variety of fruits and veggies - so good for you to get those nutrients from your food. It's hard to do sometimes, but if you can find ways to prepare them that actually make you excited to eat them, the habit will be easier to keep.

Loved reading/seeing your progress on Henry. I have not designed much, but the little bit I have dabbled, color selection was by far the hardest part. There are just so many choices that it's hard to pick one and then have others play well with it. It's no wonder that a lot of designers tend to use the same color scheme across many of their designs.
