Menopause, redux

What the hell?  My night flashes were the first to intensify and now the daytime flashes have returned.  I thought my menowar was over.  In the car Saturday, the 1961 Jimmy Dean song "Big Bad John" played (I listen to 50's and 60's music) and I could not stop the non-existent tears.  It's hard to cry when you have no tears.  Your face contorts, your mouth sours, but without the tears falling, you look like you just ate a few lemons or smelled something rank.   The Hobby Lobby commercials of the little girl and sheep, the young man and his mom, send me into a tizzy of distortions.  Just about anything does.  I started taking Viviscal for my hair loss but there isn't a hormone to be found in it, same with the Plaquenil.  So what gives?  When I got my mammo last week, the tech told me she can tell who takes hormones and who doesn't.  Really?  That obvious?  Yep.  If I would have known then .....!   I've been told it's too late to start, that ship has sailed.  Well throw on a life jacket and raise that damn anchor doc, we need to talk.

I worked a little more on decorating, decided to not hang the Santas on trees this year.  I went into the parlor where pieces were moved for painting (and never returned) and found a little black cupboard I made.  Perfect size for the table top next to the small tree.  I need a few more sprigs, but I think this display won't be changed.

I have a plan for the other set, and also the BOAF boys, maybe tomorrow.

Hope your weekend was great.

Your cupboard looks great. I would leave it. I have never stopped the hot flashes. Years ago when I complained to my step-mom, she said her mother had them till she died at 80. I am convinced I will have them more or less for the rest of my life! I never wear fleece and still wear short sleeved tees in a 68 degree house! All my friends wear layers when they come to my house!!

Your cupboard of Santas looks great. I also like the baubles on your tree, the ones we can see anyway. All the baubles over here are just huge spheres and I like decorations that actually look like something. I love the Olde World Christmas ones and treated myself to a Bee Hive through Amazon a few years ago, well worth the cost.

Love you PS Santas. The one with the drum has always been one of my favorites.
I've never had a "flash", neither did my Mom. Sorry you're dealing with this situation. I guess I've been blessed in that category.
However, after going through chemo, I lost my eyelashes, not my hair, just eyelashes. Now the ones on the lower lid of my right eye grow in backwards and stick in my eye. I either have to pull them out myself or go to see my optometrist and have him do it.
He has said that I'm not his only patient who has this problem. It is really annoying, hurts and causes my eye to water.
Thanksgiving flew by way too fast. One of the better days this year.
Thinking of you !

I always love those Santas and the Postman Santa. I tracked down the pattern I should at least give it a start. I took HRT for 10 years and then stopped my flashes eased up a bit. Definitely not unbearable at all, so hang in there. I can still remember saying I cannot wait for hot flashes ( I was always the girl in the turtle neck and a sweater) be careful what you wish for in the future!

Try an estrogen cream for those hot flashes. Start out using 2x/day. I was able to decrease to once a day after a month. I use the phyto+ progesterone cream by Bountiful Bird. Buy it on Amazon. I still feel like my internal thermostat is at least 5 degrees higher that it should be, but I don't suffer with the hot flashes.

Love this display! I want to start stitching those santas. Do you have any advise for doing them? Hot flashes suck. I hate getting them, especially during the hot summer days. Maybe someone will have some ideas for you to try. Hugs.
