spring will be here. We will soon have an enormous mess in the yard with the state mandated sewer project. Since the line to our septic system exits the house in the center of our addition, we are screwed. Mom's addition is a separate line to the system coming from a different area. So far, no one is willing to excavate beneath the room (they are worried about liability for the structure) and the addition may have to be torn down completely. If it does, we're looking at losing the room and a total of around $22,000 to run the line. If not, about $17,000. $3000 hook-up fee on top of that and around $100 a month with yearly increases because we don't have enough funding from the state who is mandating this. My sister's friend is selling her home about 10 miles from here and I absolutely love it, but it will be quite a high price. I've been looking for months, haven't seen anything I like.
Mark is golfing on this sunny warm day, and I am barely walking around the house with ice packs. Twisted just enough over the weekend to knock something out of whack. Chiropractor tomorrow morning.
I worked on this floral basket for WAY too long. Between stitching, removing, stitching again, removing again, I finally got it right. Moving on! My lamp is coming this week and I am anxious to try it. As for the Dazor, it's not the look I have issue with, it's the size and location. My room is open to the kitchen, one wall is fireplace, the other TV, so I have one full wall for a sofa. My chair sort of separates the two rooms and this large base and arm would not fit. Using the end of the sofa doesn't allow for a near by table for supplies, my water, and eye drops. The new lamp is lower, gooseneck, and smaller base. Here's the new problem - what about the chart? I need magnifiers to read it and can't wear them when using the lamp's magnifier. Catherine suggested weaker glasses but I don't have any under 3.50 to test and need that strength to read the chart.
This is the plastic bin I am using to hold the Magma and everything I need, easy to relocate and organize to prevent searching for something lost. The Magma will lie flat over it all and the lid keeps the cats out.
When we visit the Cheese House in New Wilmington, these are the options for jellies and jams, all the way to the end. My favorite is Mrs. Millers fig and these are the chunks of fruit in it that I enjoy on cream cheese.

Many of these flavors I have never seen elsewhere.
I guess they are not uncommon, but they are certainly not flavors offered in our grocery stores, any type of fruit and fruit blends only found here.
That's it folks. Hope you all have a great week.
Thanks for visiting.

Ha! I have heard of bacon jam, but not corn cob jam. I love anything Fig! Your sampler is looking so nice Marly. Every time I see your stitching I think I should get mine out, but all I really want to do is knit.
Bacon jam? Doesn't sound good, but my younger son says anything with bacon is good...lol.
The sewer project sounds like a nightmare. So sorry you have to deal with that. The thought of me ever moving almost makes me ill :(
Marly, I purchased from Amazon a device called Yoctosun head magnifier with w LED professional jewelry loop light bracket and headband. It has interchangeable magnifiers 1.0x-3.5x, the light is adjustable and bright. Runs on AAA batteries. Price $16.79. I haven't used it much,
not much time to stitch. Take a look at it, after pulling up page, look at page will see a sentence that newer model available. Sampler is beautiful, I found it in my DVD of SANQ magazines. I hope you get the sewer issue resolved. How are the furrballs?
Hope the new lamp will help you with your stitching.
Did you ever heard of --Sarcoidose--? Google please and perhaps it will give some answers to your healthproblems.
Love your sampler!
Have a great day
Greetings, Truus from Holland
I hate hearing about your sewer problems. It seems like, in this day and time, there could be an easier solution. Don't know what I'd do, right now, if there was a major problem to deal with here. I hope it can be done without you losing your room or costing you an arm and a leg.
Just want to tell you that I watched the "Stitching in the Barn" redware and sampler edition. I thoroughly enjoyed it........saved it so can watch again. There may be more videos of Kay's samplers.......sure hope so.
Would love to visit the store with all of the goodies. Love different kinds of jams and jellies.
Interview tomorrow (Wed). Stress X10
I hold my Magma on my lap when I stitch. Use my hearth to hold box with threads in envelopes. Chair next to hearth. When it's not nap time for Pippa and Sheldon, Pippa loves to sit on my Magma on my lap. Stitching time is over until she moves.
Rainy week ahead here in my town. UGH !
Take care !

I've heard of, never had, bacon jam. Mom made corn cob jelly a couple of times. The last time she did, something distracted her to outside and she came back in to the bottom of the pan burnt out completely and house full of smoke. I was shocked that she knew such language!
I hope you get some answers on the sewer situation, though I have to wonder why they can't tie on to the existing pipe outside the house. Wrong type of pipe? Wrong elevation? It sounds like no good answers in cost or work for you, whether you stay or move.
I hope your new lamp arrives and works out just as you hope it will, to give you a bit of bright spot (in more ways than one) to your days.
Hi Marly: I understand about the area for stitching, I had to rearrange to get my floor magnifier just right, sometimes life can be a pain.
The basket is adorable, I have had to remove many stitch's of late, due to an injury, I hate ripping.
I hate the fact that construction has to be done by the state or county, it seems they like to disrupt everything and everyone, so sorry to hear about you maybe having to move, its a shame they cannot go around or find a different solution.
Catherine
I'm not so sure I would want to try Corn Cob Jelly. I hope you figure out what to do with your glasses/magnifier situation. I actually use my glasses along with the magnifier. That is the only way I could see well enough. Good luck with the sewer situation.
Oh, Marly, it's just one thing after another! I hate that you are now having to deal with this sewer issue on top of all the other things you have going on. Maybe it really is time to move? Never heard of Cheese House, but it may be worth a trip up there--looks like an amazing destination. Good luck with the magnifier issues!
I thought JustGail had a good thought about the sewer issue. I wonder if you could get a variance or waiver to keep your septic system. Good luck with that issue and the others. ...jan
