Hey. What's up folks? Hope everyone had a nice Easter. One neighbor had family over, the others did not. I put on my better leggings and a paint free top, used the scalp dust to cover my bald spots, and plucked my lip.
My eyes are better, not my peeling lips and multi split tongue. So I picked up the sampler last night and after a few outline rows, the vertical did not match the horizontal. Counting showed too many spaces between the door and window. Over and over. That led to removing everything I just stitched, the misaligned door, and the horizontal outline. I can see, but I can't count. It was right the first time! The door is outlined in light thread and I was counting it as the door's edge which made it short by one stitch. All I really needed to remove was one vertical row just stitched. So I'm starting over tonight.
What have we been doing? Painting. What should I be doing? Exercising. The second floor has been the same color for decades. Except for the sewing room or when we have overnight guests, I rarely use this floor. I could leave it all as is but I think a little update may initiate more interest if we decide to sell.
This is the tiny second floor hall with the first floor's paint, almost white. But with the incandescent bulbs and no natural light, it's yellow. Greenish yellow. I don't plan on painting again in this house and because this will naturally yellow over time, it needs corrected now.
So to Mark's dismay, the entire area will be final coated in White Cotton from HGTV Sherwin Williams at Lowes. (Yes they are open.) It's lighter and so very neutral. Even in this photo, no pink, no yellow, no green, and still not a stark bluish white. Bingo. But before this final coat, I have to make sure I can live with it and not instead want a very light contrast on the trim/doors. I know this is so tiring to hear about but no where near how exhausting it is to me!
These are the doors in the dressing room and I am considering purchasing a good paint sprayer because of the number. There will be five others in addition to the room side of three passage doors. The carpet will be replaced with new flooring. I can't get the painter out because of the state restrictions and I know he will be so backed up when all reopens. I do believe businesses with one or two workers and no contact needed should be allowed to operate.

While cleaning out the hall's closet I came across mom's pillow cases kept with her doilies. They have no seams and were woven like a tube. Never saw anything like these, hand sewn hem on one edge and unfinished on the other, very long.

Heeeeeeeere's Petey. Still being attacked by Missy.
More unrelated boringness coming soon.
Stay safe everyone.

I was told some of those small businesses, like tree trimmers and contractors could apply for a waiver to work in PA. Who the heck knows since it changes daily. The frig died last week. Lowe’s told us it could be weeks for a delivery and would only bring a new refrigerator to the door, not into the house and no installation. A.K. Nahas delivered in two days, removed the old one and hooked up the new. No masks or gloves. Go figure.
It is hard to get a good white paint, I have tried! Hope the stitching goes better tonight!
Marly, glad your feeling somewhat better! Your posts are not boring, I enjoy reading them. Petey is so cute, looks like he is working his way in, nearer house. Hope Missy will come around but I guess she has always been herself.
At least you have the painting project to keep you occupied. Good luck with tonight's stitching.
So glad you can see better and have the energy to paint.
Laundry, cleaning kitchen, straightening my bedroom, doing little odd jobs is the way it goes here.
Planning to go do some grocery shopping today. Hate to think of having to wear a mask and gloves.
It's cold and wet ! YUCK ! Oh for another nice warm day.
Petey is so cute........love his markings. I wish Missy would be more hospitable towards him.
Sheldon was sick yesterday........tooo many treats I think. He's better this morning, eating his breakfast and 2 treats.
Take care, stay well. Thinking of you!

Hi Wonder Woman! Rolling right along. That upper floor looks like an ambitious project...anything to keep things normal. Petey looks like he's "at home" Hope
Springtime settles in your corner of the world and surrounds you with sunshine.
Good luck with your stitching. Better you than me with the paint job. That's a big one!!
Here in Michigan we aren`t allowed to buy paint, clothes, furniture, plants and seeds...nothing our governor has deemed unnecessary. But we can still buy lottery tickets and alcohol. So glad you`re feeling a little better. Petey looks comfortable.
Ok...so what is wrong with the paint on those doors??? Or on those walls for the matter? In the first photo, yes, I see a bit of the yellow thing you mentioned...but??? Go figure...I must be blind...and that just might be at the root of my painting issues LOL. I finally threw up my hands and told the paint peeps to do whatever they wanted to and left the keys on the porch. Hmmmm...probably not the wisest move I've made, but it is what it is as they say. I am having huge issues with this mandate.... small businesses who often deal on a one-to-one basis or have a small number of people in their places of business at once have to remain closed, but people can fight it out over toilet paper and hand sanitizer at Walmart? Or senior use the grocery store as their new social center??? And tonight I heard that anyone dying of COVID19 must be cremated???? Ok...NOW I feel like I am living in the Middle Ages.... Ok...rant done...for now. Bummer about the stitching. I'm in frustration mode there too... Just not caring for the colors on my newest project...but have too much invested time-wise to change out now. Kept thinking I'd like it better as I went...but not so much. Completely unlike the photobthat led me to purchase it. Poor, poor, pitiful, Petey. ~Robin~
