Winner #2

Yeah I know.  I did this last time too.  Why not spin that wheel for another name.  So I did.

Anonymous (Cherie in WI), you can choose between Ohio Treasure or the Marking Sampler.  Maryann took the Pennsylvania Pillowe.  Please email me!

If Cherie has or does not want either, I will spin for another name.

Cherie mentioned in her comment about a neighbor's cat using her flower beds as litter boxes.  Seems that is a common problem!  There is a product by Simple Green (Outdoor Odor Eliminator) that comes in a spray or a refill that removes the odor/ammonia with microorganisms.  It won't prevent them from using the area, but it claims to remove the odor left behind.  I wonder if it's offered by the case.

Well, isn't this a pleasant surprise! Thank you, Marly! I'll send you an email shortly and Happy Early Birthday.
I think I tried everything at the time the cats were here. They have since moved years ago, but the ph of the soil has been forever changed. I've taken some of the soil out and replaced it but still no luck! It's a raised bed so all new soil will be required.

I've had success in keeping cats out of flower beds a couple of ways. If you have a super thorny rose bush, put the pruned branches down - the downside is if you weed flowers by hand - ouch! Also, it can take quite a few branches if the cat is determined to use that spot. I've seen spikey matts made for this, but if you have much area to protect, they get expensive. Or use small pieces of chicken wire smooshed up so not flat. I prefer small pieces so they can be fit around plants and removed for weeding.

congratulations to the winners.
