AND..............

we're back!

The more I looked at the mottling, the more I realized it was sort of crappy.  So......  I hate to tell you, but I bleached it.  Only took three quick dips, didn't affect the DMC (it usually doesn't unless I soak it), and we're back to where we started.  Yes I know.  Reckless.  Should change my Instagram to the The Reckless Stitcher.

The stiff linen can stand on its own.  I don't mind stiff fabric but when it has better posture than I do, it's a little disconcerting.  I need to change my needle (to one that will certainly prick me and draw blood) in order for it to get through some of these holes.
I gave up on a tablet for Carole since Verizon refuses to tell customers which will be compatible with the service, since they prefer you purchase from them.  I found several 4G LTE but read that is not a guarantee, there are many that some services will accept and Verizon will not.  So I'm done wasting my time.  The sales department at two Best Buys and two Verizon locations would not answer (yes they are open) to help me so the heck with them too.

Chris came home from work yesterday with the news that someone in the locker room at work, different shift, has tested positive.  He didn't realize it because his symptoms were stomach upset, diarrhea, only now is he positive for fever as they are tested daily before entering the mill.  Chris has tested OK but being Type 1 diabetic and Carole being very compromised, we're concerned.  He was here, said he passed testing, but I was not comfortable talking with him.  The worker's temp was checked every day for fever, obviously not a reliable indicator.  We're holding our breath.  Our local paper reported an increase in cases, and also noted that one death "never showed any symptoms, was not tested, but a physician listed Covid as the probable cause".  Really?  Do cities or individuals benefit from claiming Covid as a cause of death?  Do not professionals have an obligation to be truthful on death certificates?  How can they do this without testing or symptoms?   As we take our rides in neighborhoods looking at houses for sale, we see so many people congregating outside, graduation parties, and young folks playing basketball and swimming.  I don't think if we stayed inside for 6 months it would matter, it will still be there.  But the more people testing positive will develop antibodies resulting in less people that can spread it.

Take care folks!  Be safe.  Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Marly, I'm in total awe of some of the things you've done to linen. Obviously, I am too chicken to even think of taking bleach to it! I hesitate to just dip it in coffee! But, your start on this sampler is so pretty. I love the colors including the linen!
I will be sending lots of good thoughts for your family that no one gets sick. This virus is so scary because of the fact that some people have no symptoms. We have been so careful and only going out when necessary, but it seems as if everyone has thrown caution to the wind. We live on the shore of Lake Michigan and our beach has been packed every day this summer. It's hot, so they head to the lakeshore from inland parts of the state!! It's hard to see how we'll ever get beyond this unless everyone does their part.
Have a great weekend! Stay safe..... Cherie in WI

So very glad that people are questioning things. So very glad that people are starting to realize that isolation only prolongs the inevitable along with collapsing the economy. I am frustrated with people ready to wear their little masks and give up their freedom so easily but then propaganda is a formidable psychological weapon.

Don't know or understand how we will know when the virus is gone and we can breathe easy again.
I hope Chris and Carole will be fine. Having the virus with no symptoms is scary.
Take care, stay well.
Happy weekend.

CoViD testing may have been done postmortem as unexplained deaths are required to have autopsies in most, if not all, states. And yes, there are penalties for falsifying a death certificate, MDs can be fined heavily or lose their licenses. The virus has been contained in many countries with the use of masks and social distancing. I would rather have a dead economy that can be rebuilt than a dead family that cannot be replaced so I will continue respecting others by wearing my mask. NOT wearing masks is what prolongs the spreading of this virus. Let's look at the science, not the hype spewed by non-medical people who fear what they don't understand. Even 45 has finally started to wear a mask...hopefully his groupies will follow suit. THEN we can all question why one of the richest and most technologically advanced countries in the world had the highest infection and death rate of the pandemic. THAT is what we should be questioning. Stay safe. Hoping your family stays safe. And let's remember that we are ALL Americans.

The hospital that my son who is a physician, is encouraging docs to claim any patient deaths where payment is uncertain, as COVID deaths because the government is paying for COVID treatment. So even though a patient dies from heart complications, they are encouraging docs to put down COVID as a primary cause so the hospital can bill Uncle Sam.
Mask wearing is patriotic and science shows that it works. And Trump's followers (of which I am one) most wear masks! We have the highest rate of infection because idiot governors in charge of reopening did that too fast and people got the idea that the pandemic was behind us. Prayers for your family, Marly, and hopes that everyone stays well.

Ok...tell me you did not put that in bleach with the stitching on it??? Am I reading that correctly??? YIKES girl. And obviously just a dilute version of bleach?? Your intrepidness with linen leaves me amazed. Praying and hoping that Chris remains healthy... I know that panic-y feeling as I learned late last week that "someone" who had been at my mother's assisted living facility (where we are not allowed to visit) tested positive...So, they had my brother take her out to be tested... HELLO? If she didn't have it before, she will likely be exposed to it now. Anyways...different story for a different time. And, yes...hospitals are paid for COVID related cases...and physicians have been instructed to list COVID as the cause of death even if the person was mangled in a car accident and died as a result of that but may have had a fever, etc. If you search, you will also find many states, counties, etc. whose "statistics" are being found to be "mistaken"...Here, if someone hospitalized was tested 8 times until they tested negative, it was counted as 8 positives. Hmmm.... And, as you know, I am immune compromised and high risk...but I agree that this is not going to go away with isolation and mask-wearing. And those who shout the loudest about people of my frame of mind not looking at the science are ignoring the real science behind immunology. Anyways...more than 'nuff said. ~Robin the Troublemaker"~
