One more page

and this will be a finish.
I don't like the bare top of the center stem but it is what it is.
The base of the pot is void of stitching and may be filled with satin.

The brats have been on their own sleeping in shrubs and avoiding me.  But Petey is sticking close to me and wanting stroked, I've been obliging.  A half hour after my last close encounter, my stomach started itching and I assumed a skeeter bite.  But there was a tiny black pinhead protrusion, and after my Dazor light and mag, in addition to a pair of 4.0 mags, there it was.   A tick.  The tiniest of ticks, the Lyme carrying ones.  So I am swelled and red, waiting to see what develops over the next few days.  Can I squirt the tube on his neck without wasting this expensive flea/tick remedy?  I seriously doubt it.

Hello Santas and Samplers! After a llloonngg absence from social media~ I AM BACK! And, I have truly missed your posts~ I have a lot of catching up to do on my readings of your pages, but first things first, is TODAY! I am sorry to hear about your tick! I went to the Pulmonologist today for my annual PFT; which was at the hospital; and I was stopped at the front door. I have a lo grade temp of 99.9; and my throat is blood red with no more than a tickle that I thought was due to my allergies and post nasal drip. I am going to be tested for Covid 19 on Friday, and also, strep throat and mononucleosis. I got home and was furious, hurt and just sobbed. I have a very important podiatry appt at 11am today...and Dr. Dyal is going to make an exception to see me. They will take my temp at the door; and if it is not over 99.9 they will put me in a room immediately. The urgency is that I have not had my diabetic pedicure in over 3 months, needing toe nails clipped and calluses shaved. And, I can not feel my feet, my toes want to curl up and cramp. I originally was going to have an MRI on my right foot due to extreme pain, bluish and sometimes inflamed red coloring due to another auto immune disorder called eurothromyalgia. I also have Raynauds disease. So, glad to be back and keep posting...your work is exceptional AND SSooo are YOU! hugs, queeny

Oh dear a tick is just what you don't need now!!!!
I always put a plaster with Betadine on the place after removed the tick. When the spot is red go to your doctor for a antibiotica and never wait till there will be a ring about the spot! You can be infected without the ring!!! Sorry I am expert in getting ticks when going through my garden due to the deer who are in my garden.
Take care of yourself!!!!
Love your sampler.

Crap on the tick! All I know is that once it is removed, save it if you can, as it can be tested for Lyme. Or do they just assume all deer ticks are carriers by now?

Our cats are laying out and about in shady cool areas too, not the hot front porch. It's funny seeing how far they stretch out while snoozing and waiting for supper though. Good news on Petey and liking being petted now, it sounds like he's making up for lost time. Is he getting on your lap? I'm wondering if a towel on your lap might catch any ticks he might have before they get on you again.

Marly, can you put some of the flea/tick ointment on your hand and transfer it to Petey as you pet him? Possibly some of it would get to him at least?! Hope your bite heals well, and quickly.

Order the x-large dog Advantage II from chewy.com and empty a tube into a small jar like a baby food jar. Using a syringe, draw up .8 ml for each cat. One tube will serve up to 5 cats! Any left over liquid can be stored by just putting the lid on the jar. It doesn't evaporate. Do NOT use Advantix! This is for dogs only! It is toxic to cats. This is how I treat my pride of house panthers. Good luck!

You are really making progress! More than I am with my hooking. Think I will have forgotten how to stitch by the time I get the sea beast done. Truthfully, I did not notice the headless plant in the pot....until you pointed it out. Now it does strike me as a bit peculiar. But I would venture to say that probably most will be like me and not notice unless their attention is drawn to it. Ewww on the tick....It is a really bad year for them for some reason... I haven't had one in years, but this year I've already had several...after going no where where they should be. A few weeks ago I was awakened by the feeling of something making me itch by my belly button. Sure enough...a tick...and it was bit in. Of course I was half asleep and not thinking clearly I immediately ripped it out...well, of course, I didn't get it all. Grrr.... And all I could think was great....just what I need...Lymes. I hope and pray you and I both escape that fate. No advice on the flea/tick stuff...My kittehs are indoor only....And Snowdog...well, the only problem I have is getting through all that fur to find at least something close to his skin. Gah! ~Robin~

Marly: So sorry about the tick, they are horrible this year, I use peroxide and an ointment on my bites, I am not a doctor this is just what I do.
Poor Petey, I hope he does not carry anymore ticks to you.
Your Sampler is lovely and you are almost finished, yahoo.
Have a great evening.

Your stitching is gorgeous! Oh Lyme. Ugh. I do hope you are ok and don't develop that bull's eye rash. Maybe get checked out for it just in case??

Vera said...

Oh Marly - I just had the bullseye rash and am now on antibiotics for Lyme. Do not wait - get to a doctor. I wasn't even tested, they just automatically assumed. The antibiotics won't hurt if you don't have it and the sooner you are treated, the better. Also - not everyone has a bullseye or even a noticeable bite (my son had not visible bit, no rash and yet he had Lyme).

LOVE your stitching!!
