Start #1

Stacy Nash Hannah Jenkinson, without the gorgeous 3830.  Neither Michael's nor JoAnn's has this so I will make a trip to HL in a day or two while working the other threads. The linen is 28 as suggested, a natural tan, and the threads are fabulous.  I ordered a piece of PTP Faun and I hope I like it, waiting for Wren and Vellum to be restocked.  Ann will be done on Flax.  There are so many motifs and elements to her and I think a mottled linen would be too busy and take away from the design.

This made it easier for me to see if I had any workable fabric.  I listed 30, 32, and 35/36 required size for each sampler and checked the count bags for anything that would work.  Now why haven't I done this before?  So much quicker and much less mess.

We're past the half way mark of August.  Hard to believe, and I ain't happy.

That's a great idea with your fabric. I have mine stored in two separate drawers..28 count in one and all the rest in the other. But I'm always hunting and sorting for the right size. When I have some time, I think I'm going to use your method! Some of the called for fabrics and threads just do not work. I'm stitching the Christmas Garden and I wish I had changed out this "Calico Kitty" for some other color. I really hate it, but I'm a quarter of the way through. The design only calls for four colors and it's a fairly big sampler...but I'm not loving the floss colors.

I cannot even begin to imagine how much linen you have! An obsession kind of like my wool obsession, me thinks...lol!

Marly, you're making me feel like I have to "up" my linen stash! Clearly I don't have enough! If you don't find the DMC, let us know. I may have one I can share. I'm so sorry about your beautiful sink. Take care......Cherie in WI

I like the idea of having a list of count-size linens with the colors....unfortunately, I have many in my stash that are of "unknown origin"....I know the count, but gee....name? company?? Ain't gonna happen. Looks like you're off to a good start...and why do your colors always look SOOO much better than the model photos??? ~Robin~
