But will I ever stitch it?

Do you purchase charts of samplers that you love, knowing you would probably not have the gumption to even start them?  I do.  And just did again!  As many of you watch Nicole's videos, you saw the chart she was given, Sarah Needham.  I had a little body twitch.  And the search began.  There were quite a few downloads in the sold section of Samplers Forever's Etsy shop, and I opted for the printed chart from Kitten Stitcher.  The download includes a color version in addition to B/W, but it was not listed when I visited so ordered the print version fearing it would sell out.

If the only photo I saw was this one, I would not have twitched.

But the photo on the chart of the original got my gears going.
Not the only time it's happened that the older version sold me on the project.

Sarah has a really quirky lawn, and a knock out border.  Yes I've mentioned several hundred times that I dislike stitching borders, but this may be rather forgiving to a misplaced stitch and it's just so beautiful.  I do believe it will be stunning in person.

Because I don't have a phone and my tablet is not linked (or on for very long) I missed updates of PTP linen stock.  Two days after the announcement, all were sold out.  But I did nab a piece of Wren from 123 so that helped my mood.   I'll wait to pull thread colors for Sarah but already know I want a darker, maybe more golden linen.

Hope your day is going well.

I don't usually buy charts I know I won't stitch, but sure have plenty in my stash that I thought I would stitch, but now know I'll never have enough hours in my day :)I really should start selling some of these on my blog--maybe next year! I would love to see you start and finish Sarah Needham, Marly--maybe just set aside a week per month and work on it? Glad you at least found some Wren fabric--times are tough right now with so many fabrics and threads hard to come by.

Enjoy your day (I'm sitting down here freezing so I can imagine it is even cooler up your way :) Down in the lower 40s tonight--I'm so not ready!

I am always buying chart that I will most likely not stitch...but I have them. I like to say I "collect" charts, hahaha. That sampler look nice but I am sure there is a lot of over one looking at those animals in the grass. Floss tube and instagram are dangerous places., but eye candy for me.

What a pretty sampler. I don't know of any stitcher who does not buy charts that he/she may never stitch! I say go for it! Who knows???

Guilty. But, in my defense, I would say I am more like Carol.... I didn't "intentionally" buy charts that I know I will never stitch, but I cerrtainly have a great many that won't get stitched....even if I were granted cat lives. But, dang...she is purdy.... I wouldn't probably have thought much of her either had I just seen the pattern....but the old versions....WOW!! I stay away from flosstube.... WAY too much temptation there. ~Robin~

A beautiful sampler is this!
And yes I do buy new charts even I know I perhaps will never stitch these and my daughter doesn't stitch.
They are only small charts not samplers so who knows I will stitch some of these.
Stay save

Our city has only one kind of cross stitch linen. It’s cream coloured. I buy it, wad it up, and stick it in a medium sized pot with two tea bags. When it gets nice and dark over a steady heat I add vinegar. Voila. Prim background

I have bought patterns not intending to stitch them. At least not the whole design as is. I'd like to design my own sampler, and a few patterns I've bought thinking to use bits and pieces (border or motifs). But mostly, I seriously fully intend to stitch the patterns I buy as designed. Some have since moved to "will never stitch" category due to my changing taste.

I can see why - the original is much more appealing! Can't wait to see your work on this :)

I had to keep scrolling back and forth between the two versions just to assure myself it was the same sampler- the difference is amazing; and the original so much more appealing and stunning. And yes- add me to the list of pattern buyers/hoarders. Why? Because they are beautiful, visually appealing, would love to stitch/have,,, enough for several lifetimes.

Well goood luck to you, Marly dear. Get it out of your system. I don't doubt you
will make progress on it, given it's appeal. Praying your vision and patience will prevail... This one would be quite an accomplishment, O courageous one...

That’s going to be beautiful! I need to stay away from all social media. Lol! Thanks to Saltbox Stitcher I purchased another chart today! I’ve turned into quite a collector since COVID started. I hadn’t stitched anything in 20 plus years and now I’m back at it and loving it!
