Hi buds! Even though the eyes are causing slow progress and several misplaced pokes, I am enjoying this sampler. The moifs are easy, the large side borders beneath can tolerate errors, the body is simple alpha. This is a good sampler for anyone wanting a large finish with no over one or complicated borders. The big yellow house is close and I hope this thread color shows well. If not, I will change to a brighter or lighter.
Speaking of large size, my tunic tops in my new size are in at Kohls and I will have something to wear. Tek Gear has really nice casual tunics and I don't even need tall size. Mid thigh and hides it all!. Well, it hides rolls and thighs but I'd have to add black side panels to hide the width. Why don't they have tops with black side panels or vertical accents? I look at women's sizes for Carole and am surprised that they continue to offer asymettrical hems hanging low at the sides and shorter in front which makes anyone look wider. If the lower hems are at front and back with the sides shorter, you look slimmer!
Have a good day!!

Never thought about but you are right. Shorter sides on a top are flattering. Thanks! BTW Marly and readers of S and S, a new member of the family will be arriving Sunday! Ms. Prudence! Took a lot of effort and a broken heart more than once but I finally am adopting a little rescue girl. She is a 6 year old Shih Tzu mix that was a breeder from a puppy mill. Yes. Her whole life was spent in a cage producing puppies. How I would like to punish those monsters.... Anyway, I am super excited. Wish I could attach a picture to this comment section!
Well, there ya go....start your own clothing line.....can't be that much harder than writing a book, can it? And seems like everyone these days is writing a book LOL. The floss in the skeins looks so bright....but dang if they don't work beautifully in the actual piece! ~Robin~ (Congrats to Ms Peppercorn!! We had a Shih Tzu and he was one incredible dog.....)
Thanks for the sampler suggestion. I really don't do over one well at all! Thanks also for the tunic suggestion, too much comfort cooking during this covid mess!
Good morning, Marly! I'm back from CA and trying my best to catch up on my favorite blogs. The sampler you're stitching is so pretty and I'm glad you are able to work on it in spite of your eye issues. Great to find some new clothes that fit! I hate winter clothes and dread going back into them now that the warm weather has ended. I could happily live in sleeveless tops and capris my whole life :) Hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead ♥
I am a fan of simple borders or one that build on itself. I just work bits at a time now because I tend to mess up and it throws everything off. This one looks so nice. The uneven hems, so popular in recent years, remind me of a friend who used to chop off the bottoms of her shirts because she was so short and they were so long. Always looked like a bit of a rag. I did try a few, with my crooked spine, I really looked like I was a pretzel!!!
Keep on stitching sisters, it looks like a long winter ahead.
Marly: Beautiful Sampler.
I agree about the tunics with longer sides, I prefer a same size hem all around, I do carry the large hip with me every where I go.
Show us your new tunic when you get a chance.
Have a great day.
