Saturday

October.  I pulled out the winter clothes (yes it's been very cold) and nothing fits.  I used two gallons of distilled water in my floor stand steamer to make all my knits wider.  It works but only if the garment is laid on a bed and smoothed/stretched or taped to the larger size.  Steaming in that position doesn't create a ruffled edge or wonky seam from trying to stretch as I go.  I have quilts, not puffy comforters, so I have a fairly flat surface to use.  The arrogant and fiesty sweaters that refuse to give in are taped or pinned into the next size.  Yep.  I've done it before and needed it again.

I thought about Noom, WW is a nuisance having to look up all foods and work out points for loved recipes.  I tried it before, but do not have a phone to constantly check points, but it does work for many.  Still may be an option but not my first choice.  When I lost before, it was just by reason.  I cut out the continual food grabs and sweets.  One evening snack a day, light meals, healthy choices.  It worked.  Getting through the first several days without sugar was tough but after, I had no issues, even when baking pies and cookies for mom several times a week.  So why can't I do it again?   Changing "can't" to "won't" is key isn't it?

So the tag sale for the black ones is tonight.  If there are more requests than I have tags, Mark said he will cut more.

We visited the large Amish greenhouse in Mercer and found mums the size of bushels, 5 for $27.50!!  Tight buds, anxious for them to open.  They were sold out of yellow, I got orange for myself and Carole and one for my neighbor in red.  She has red doors on her house which I thought would be perfect, but she planted it in the backyard.  The decorative pots they sell here are not hardy mums, but I didn't say anything.  I thought she would put it on her porch or steps out front!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Amazing mums, nothing like that here. We only have big box stores and I have not ventured out to them. Just medical appointment me and the cats. I only just got my hair cut, six months late! I will try to remember sale tonight, but doubt it by 7 pm I shut down thinking! Not cool enough to wear warmer clothes, just jeans instead of shorts but still linen shirts. Take care

That is an amazing deal on the mums!! And your photo with the chair, prim perfection!! Should be a notecard.... Funny you said they were out of yellow...that is my absolute LEAST favorite color of mum LOL.... And I was disappointed that most of the mums here were already fully open.... It is a tricky business here: If you get them too early, they will be "spent" before you really want them in full bloom (i.e., Halloween...Thanksgiving would be nice too, but ain't gonna happen in Nod)....If you wait too long either they will be gone or, more likely, freeze off. We've had some hard freezes already. I know two people who have done Noom and they have done incredibly well on it....and both said that it helped them more than just with weight loss. Wish I had discipline enough to do diets....never have and never will. Thankfully, though, my clothes still fit.....tried cleaning out my closet because it's a hot mess and I'm outta room even though I haven't bought much new lately....and drat if all those jeans didn't still fit. I'm ready for different LOL. Up....and hour and a half to go....so far so good. ~Robin~

Hi Marly, the black tags are wonderful. Does your mind and creativity ever stop? They are the best! Stay warm - my husband and I had the (gas) fireplace going yesterday. It has a blower on it and the room was cozy as we ate dinner. I'm wearing a sweatshirt this morning.
Take care and be safe

Hi Marly, I have followed your blog for sometime. And, have enjoyed your many ideas, tweeks and changes. And, believe me when you talk about weight I am right there with you. I found the very best diet for me is the DASH diet. It goes back to the old exchange system but not quiet as rigid. Don't spend anymore money on the expensive stuff to loose weight, they don't work. You can google the DASH diet and pretty much get all the information you need. It was developed for hypertension, but is being recommended for diabetes as well. I wish you the very best, and keep blogging:)
