The good and the bad

First the good.  I started the house color because I couldn't wait.  The Brandy is one half of the rows, 729 is the others, color is the same.  I decided to do half cross with the DMC and decide later if I want the Brandy or not.  I really like the way this color will look.  I will use the method of entire house done vertical half cross first, then complete the stitch with horizontal rows.   I know I harp on this method but it's made my large areas so much nicer.

The sad is our Budman. He was older when he showed up and that was twelve years ago.  He has a bad tooth or something in his mouth (but no odor) and he panics when we try to touch his mouth to check.  The vet said his heart is bad, and stress is not good.  He could not sedate him to examine and certainly not use anesthesia to correct a problem.  He was eating baby food and watered pate but won't get near a dish now, prefers to sleep.  He looked to be failing before this happened, and I think it's his time to leave.

Sunny but cool today.  I have outside work to do.

Enjoy your day.

Your sampler is looking so pretty, Marly! I need to try your big area method of stitching. So sorry about Budman. I know how sad it is to lose our beloved fur babies.

Poor Budman. You have given him a wonderful life and when it's time for the Rainbow Bridge, I pray he goes peacefully.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bud.

House looks great - too bad your brandy is so uniform in color, but at least it's a *good* color.

Awwww....I feel so bad about Bud.... No matter the age or circumstances, it always hurts like hell. Praying his pain and suffering is minimal. Wishing for you strength and courage. I do have to say your "large areas" look a dang sight better than mine yet I still don't grasp exactly how this method accomplishes this. I am tempted to try it on my last house in Salem Village. (REALLY debating this because if I end up seeing a huge difference, I will have to build a pyre and light the matches....) So, tell me again, starting at the first row, you go from the top of the building down to the bottom (only doing the 1/2 stitch) one row at a time?? (Intuitively, I am drawn to going horizontally across one row at a time...) We had a very pleasant day yesterday temp wise...today was back to cool and dreary...but they are backing off on the snow we were supposed to get on Sunday. I am sure the hunters aren't pleased (it is opening weekend), but I am. ;-) ~Robin~

House color looking good.
Budman has truly been part of your family over these many years. So sad to see our pets failing and hope he won't suffer. These animals/pets are like "children" when you get right down to it and we love them so very much. Thinking of you and hoping you know you've done all you could do to give him a great life.
My very best to you, Jan

Marly, so sad Budman is declining. We love our furr babies and it hurts like hell when we have to let them go. I so enjoy your blog and am a cat lover so love your cat stories. I know you love all of them and do everything for their care and comfort. Prayers for Budman.

So sorry to hear Budman is so bad. Do hope he will no suffer to much and a big hug for you.
Our daughter has to send her furry friend over the rainbow a few weeks ago because she was too ill and was not cureable.
The color of the house is great.
Stay save and healthy

Marly, your house looks super. I am sorry to hear about Budman. But I know that you have provided him with a safe place to call home for these years. Thinking of you.

First, so sorry about little Bud. He has had the best life possible with you. Who could want more? Our pets are so important, it is amazing how these little creatures help form our lives, isn't it?

I really like your vertical then horizontal method. It does cover beautifuly.

Don't over-do the outside stuff. Remember a tired Marly leads to a fussy ticker!

Deepest sympathy for you. I’m dealing with the same thing with my dog Oliver but he is still eating. A new vet suggested an antibiotic for this situation due to age, heart problems and not being able to sedate. I got a liquid and put it on his food for 10 days. Hoping it bought me more time with him.

So sorry about Bud. Wish there was something that could be done to help him. I know you and Missy will miss him. Deepest sympathy !
Sheldon has a problem with tooth disease and as soon as we can get our $$$$ together,January, probably...........he will go for possibly extraction. The doctor said it's not life threatening but painful for him. He has been aggressive at times and the doctor said it was probably because of the teeth. She said he'd be a different cat after the treatment.
Take care, stay well.

So very sad to hear about Bud, don't know what to say. I have had many cats I have only once had a cat die at home. Which was from an annurisiam. I have a 16 year old female who I keep "checking on" but she is still going strong. Thinking of you all.

That is so sad to read, Marly... Bud was blessed to have you in his life--you really made a difference. Even after 12 years, I still miss my Shadow cat.

Your sampler is looking wonderful and it's so interesting to read how you stitch the larger areas in vertical and then horizontal stitches. Will have to give it a try!

I think the Brandy looks great. I'm so sorry to hear about Bud. I would take my chance and put him under to fix the tooth. At least it's giving him a shot. I unexpectedly lost my favorite cat on Thursday and there's nothing I wouldn't do to go back a week or two and do things differently. Poor Bud.
