Last minute

On the final day of open enrollment to change Medicare plans, it wasn't until 8pm that my decision was made.  I am not satisfied, not happy, not sure if it was the right one but I have to live with it for a year.  And I'm palping away.  I have been paying for a Medigap plan and separate drug plan since my diagnosis and wanted to move to an Advantage plan saving me several thousand a year.  The generous dental plan would have been a big help along with not paying a $445 drug deductible.  But my agent and husband felt I should stay on the best plan a while longer.  I would not be able to get back on a Medigap (pre-existing condition denial is allowed for Medicare members) so this decision was very taxing on my menobrain.  And of course, the expense is bothering me especially with the sewer project's massive cost this spring.  I have to let it go, but that doesn't come easily.  Such a putz.  I would put on my big girl pants but they no longer fit.

I'm posting the larger Santas that I will keep out for Christmas to Instagram.  The majority of the PS guys will go back into the tote, limited decorating this year.

The BOAF boys will be out and the tiny guys in the front row will join them.  I so love those littles.

Carole's doc did not hear any fluid in her lungs, just the swoosh of her bad valves.  Back to the full Lasix dose, and told her that her condition will continue to cause breathlessness.  That's a long word.

Thanks for the comments about the beige thread.  I plan to stitch the next group with 712 and if that doesn't offer more contrast I will try the backstitch.

Hope your week goes well.

Stay safe!

Marly, please don't hide those pretty Santa's in a tote!! They need to be seen and spreading cheer!
I've started with Medicare this month. It's so hard to know if we've made the right decisions.
Enjoy your day! Cherie in WI

Medicare insurance is all so confusing!!! I hope your choice was a good one.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all your Santas and I agree with anonymous. They are too sweet to be tucked away.

Love your Santa's.. as for the insurance, are you saying you can trade down in coverage on your insurance but once you do that you can never trade back up?

Your Santas are ALL so Wonderful!! they Need to be left out- even if just in a bowl or basket; even if only for YOU to see and admire every day :-)

Your Santas are wonderful. In this weird year, I think people are either doing more decorating or less. I am with you in the less part. Plus I am trying to use more natural things. However, our tacky neighborhood is a blaze with lights and blowup figures!!!! I think you could spot this neighborhood from outer space!

Your Santas are incredible! I don't believe I have seen them all together like that. Yes...keep them all out....especially since they are already out of the tote LOL. I would love to see how you incorporate them in your decoraitng. (Hint, hint.) Grrrr....thanks for reminding me that I have to try to figure out my insurance in the next few days....I think I have until the 15th, but believe they have already enrolled me in a new friggin' plan since my plan from last year is no longer offered. It's been like this year after year.... I pick a plan...pay outrageous premiums and deductible, and each year it becomes more limited...essentially limited to one medical facility that can't keep drs, a hospital that is no where near to being the closest one to me, and eliminating coverage for previously covered prescriptions. Then, even with all that crap, they eliminate the plan the next year and I have to go through all the analysis again that literally makes my blood boil. I bet my "palps" would rival yours when I do this. This year I have been so occupied with my husband's medicare and supplement insurance, I've neglected my own. And I am still working on an appeal of the SSA's determination...we are paying more now for his insurance than we did when we had private insurance. Absolutely NUTS. ~Robin~

Marly: I hate having to sign up for medicare every year, its such a hassle finding the right plan, we go to an independent broker, he looks for the best plan for us.
I am happy Carole's lungs are clear, hope her valves are not to bad.
Your Santa's are adorable.

Merry Christmas

Last night I thought of you while sorting through my decorations and my few Santas. That was how I discovered you on the interwebs....I googled cross-stitch Santas and there you were. That was some time ago. Yours are so darn cute, happy little dudes.

Insurance, nothing good about it except when you have a huge hospital bill. Catastrophic illness or major surgery reminds me to bite the bullet, pay that large monthly charge because, after much research, this is the plan that works best for us. I hope you have the same.

It is all distressing.

Love those Santas, Marly! I am not decorating as much this year either (although my husband would beg to differ :) Medicare...ugh! My husband is still waiting for an answer from them from a question he posed last week (and they supposedly were expediting his question!). Why is this so very complicated?
