Much easier and less tedious when the rows are short. The first half stitching horizontally seemed never ending but completing the stitch in vertical rows is a cinch. Turning the linen upside down every other row is the only annoyance, and very tolerable even for a crab.
And once again I am so pleased I discovered this fill method. Look how even this block is! Before, my rows were obvious and distorted the linen. You're probably tired of hearing about that but it makes me happy every time I see the greatly improved result.
Happy Monday!!

You taught me something new, I never heard of this before. Take care.
So refresh my memory, please...since I have CRS. You stitch all the horizontal rows and then go back in and do them vertically? They do look good.
Marly: This has helped me in the past, otherwise it is annoying to me plus it does give a better look and no bunching on the fabric.
Have a wonderful day.

I have never filled in a large section that way. Your grass looks great!
Ha ha.... I know I have bugged the dickens out of you about this method previously, but I think it's finally sinking in....with 1 last question just to make sure I finally have it: You go up and down even when doing both your initial cross and your second cross??? Wouldn't it just be easier to go horizontally for both?? Or is that what you think makes your rows look wonky?? (Or should I say must be making my rows look wonky since I don't use this method?) Ok...so WAY more than 1 question...but my good twin, Lauren, opened the door. Apparently slow learning runs in our genes LOL. ~Robin~
I want to thank you for sharing your fill method of horizontal and vertical. I use it now, and I love it! No more striations in color that are distracting. Thank you, and I hope you stay well.
I hate those large sections of grass or anything else so I will try your method. I assume you do the first cross across horizontally then come back and finish with the second cross being vertical. Hope I have that right!
