Crab(gr)ass. Boom.

Done!  Time to move back into the body and finish this gal.

Because of my thread tension missteps, this section would have been obviously skewed if I didn't use the two direction method.   Just look at how nicely this lays without pressing or manipulating.

And I've showed the back before, but you can see how the stitches make a grid that really stabilizes the linen.

I explained the situation and was scheduled for a filling, but that didn't happen at my dental visit, over a $100 for him to look at it.  He told me to make an appointment and gave me the estimate of $364.  I'm not in pain until brushing or sweets hit it.  Is the pain worth a second bath of fritters?  You bet your sweet apple it is.  Mom's recipe is very simple. A few drops of milk can be added if batter is too thick.

1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp oil
3/4 cup flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Slice cored apples into rings or wedges, dip in batter, fry in a little oil (not too hot)
Dust with powdered sugar.
Devour.

That is so cool how the back comes out with your stitching method. Of course I will never remember it with what little stitching I do.
Oh, those fritters sound heavenly!

And forgot to say so sorry about the tooth. You were right...there goes your stimulus check. Mine went toward real estate taxes ;-(

Ok...I don't remember seeing the cool little grid that makes on the back....I might have to adopt your methodology not for any of the other benefits you mention, but to have a cool grid on the back...that no one will ever see LOL. But I will never, ever, figure out how everyone stitches without their linen ending up all wrinkled without pressing. Mine are always a hot hot mess. (Hmmm, sometimes even AFTER pressing ha ha.) Thanks for sharing the recipe for the fritter batter.... Do you use canola oil? ~Robin~

I will check the back of my linen to see if I get the square shapes. That grass looks wonderful. I bet you are glad it is done. Sorry about your tooth problem. I think I told you that our first stimulus check went to the dentist!!!!

Your work is so nice and tension so even, a goal for sure. The fritters sound like a great idea. I usually bake on Saturday and I know the husband will be scanning every cupboard and shelf tonight because he has already eaten everything in sight. Tonight, we will have apple fritters, if he hasn't eaten all of them! Thanks.

I hope I remember your method on the next project that has large sections of color. Do you use this method only on sections like the grass or houses, or do you also do this on oddly shaped areas like trees or leaves?

Odd that you were scheduled for a filling but have to go back again to get it done :-< grrr! I could see having to go back if they did the one filling then found more spots needing work so the schedule didn't get too far off. I guess they think we don't know of their ways to get more $ out of us.

Wow! What an amazing looking back, Marly! The whole appearance is wonderful, but not as wonderful as those Apple Fritters sound. Oh, my! Take care now and I hope all goes well today ♥
