Hi folks. I'm continuing to feel unwell and trying to get answers, and I hope you're doing a lot better than I am!!
Since I am prone to errors and even more so when the threads are not highly contrasted to the linen, I usually don't complete the cross of stitches that must align until I'm sure they are correct. So much easier to remove a tent or uncrossed row if the border or outlines are off a thread.
The house was also first cross only, necessary for my fill in method (vertical rows first followed by horizontal rows) to control my tension. That method is also great if using the sewing method with overdyed thread. The base is completed, and the top cross done horizontally allows the variegations to do their stuff while still working the sewing method.
Took quite a while to complete all the stitches which surprised me. I was thinking .... single rows, how long can that take? More than you thought nitball. They are numerous and long! But all are now fully crossed, house will be soon, and I can focus on completing the bottom area.
I've been craving sweets, especially nut twisty donuts, but the easiest and path of least contact comes from my oven. Being lazy in activities other than needlework, I tried the ready to bake packages in the dairy aisle, next to the cans of biscuits for sausage gravy (can't beat McDonalds but only at few locations). Huge bonus with this pack of 24. I separated, wrapped, and froze half with the time and temp on the card. Smaller batch, less piggy. The number of baked cookies is never what's expected because I prefer dough to baked, and a few are always plucked off the baking sheet.
Have a good one!!

Wowsers...you're just cruising on that. I'm impressed. I don't like watching you do houses because it always reminds me that I should be doing things differently. Sigh. I broke down once and tried those ready-bake toll house cookies. The first one tasted pretty good, but then as I ate more, they tasted really "preservative-y" to me....or something. Just easier to mix up a batch....and yeah, I have no qualms about eating a whole batch. ~Robin~
You wanna talk about piggy. I've been eating with wild abandon since last Fall. It's not even a little bit pretty. Sigh......oh well. Sorry you're not feeling well. It's hard feeling crappy. Hope you find answers. Hang in there.
Sampler looks sooooo good. I love the colors and the design.
Take care and have a great weekend!!!
Sorry you're not feeling well. Maybe too many cookies ? My sweet teeth are running rampant since Thanksgiving.
Got to do something about losing the weight I've gained.
I'm stitching hearts now, after finishing my Americana piece.
Looking forward to being able to sit on my porch swing again.
Thinking of you !

I have been known to make double and triple batches of chocolate chip cookie dough and freeze them. If I bake them all up, well, piggie is a relative term. The only weakness in the cookie department, these are just calling me. thanks. Son said he will stop after work to get some because he knows they will disappear!
I love how this sampler is turning out. I am going to try your method, I really like the finished texture.
Take care, rest when you can, hope you feel better soon.
Marly: I am so sorry you still are not feeling well, I sure hope you get better soon.
Beautiful Sampler, I thing doing only a half stitch is a great idea, I am going to try that on my next Sampler that has a border to make sure they meet on each end.
I have to stop eating anything with gluten ugh, just the photo looks yummy.

The sampler is looking great. I like your method of stitching vertically and horizontally, especially when I'm using flimsy fabric. We tend to eat the cookie dough too. Hubby has been in a cooking and baking frenzy for months now. He is also the one who eats 90% of the cookies, breads and cakes he's been making. He's also been making stews, roasts, chicken, and anything else he thinks sounds good.
So sorry that you're not feeling well. I hope you start feeling better soon.
I hope you are feeling better!!!
I love the way you really think through your stitches and stitching, Marly! I just plow ahead and stitch--ha ha! For some reason, I'm in the mood to whip up some chocolate chip cookies after seeing your cookie dough photo :)
