Nope. Not ringing my bell. If I find a smaller red, I'll change them. If not, I'll paint wooden star buttons red which would lay flat. When I tried to sew into a little pillow, the bells just didn't work. But since the scallops were sewn four times until I got it right, they're staying. After two attempts, I added the backstitch beneath so I can count accurately. Nah-uh. I continually started counting "two" on the first thread. The first thread was four! Didn't realize until the very last scallop that it all had to be moved again. And this is the last time you'll have to look at this finish.
I started the new sampler and had to change fabric since I measured incorrectly, the piece was too short. Have you seen Kathy Barrick's new charts on IG? So what do we do about this Expo thingy? Will the charts be offered on their Etsy sites? Or do we request from our favorite places to order?
We had a really bad situation with Bud last night. Emergencies always happen late don't they? He is better today, even ate a little. We gave him half of a Valium to sedate him, thinking we would be taking a ride to an out of town ER vet. It calmed him, gave him an appetite to down two cans of food without a care about the mouth pain. He is still sleeping comfortably today. We'll see what the weekend brings. Monday I have two appts, Mark too, and then home to get Carole and take her to hers. Day by day.
I have decided to look for a reputable acupuncturist to see if it can help Sjogrens. At least reduce the progression. Here's my lips on a GOOD day, after the flaking skin came off and Neosporin helped the splits. Nice, huh?
Carole is very upset about two friends' situations, very sad. She is getting her second Covid shot tomorrow. Don't you get tired of my unpleasant habit of mentioning health crap? Sorry.
Hey!! 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby ends forever in two days.
Have a good weekend.

Those lips look so sore! You have had more than your share of trouble lately!! Take care and I hope things turn around fast!
Oh my goodness, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and your lips say SORE! OUCH! HELP! I can`t image the discomfort you must feel...so sorry for your health issues. Is your breathing better? Your eye dryness improved? How does your foot feel? What about your scalp? I ask because I genuinely care and wonder how you deal with it all without exploding! Chocolate perhaps? My grandma always used to say "This too shall pass" and I certainly hope you have seen the worse and better days are ahead. As far as your cross stitch goes it is darling, I really like the scallops on top but agree about the bells. Hope you have a good weekend, you continue to be in my thoughts.
I feel so sorry for you--your lips are so bad and wish I knew something that would help. No you are not complaining but you must be feeling very uncomfortable.
Poor Bud but good to hear that he had eaten some food.
Like the red bells but understand why you will change these.
Take care and stay save with a peaceful weekend
Greetings, Truus from Holland
First, so glad to read your news, have missed it.
The bells are adorable, jingle jingle !
Glad Bud is somewhat better, at least eating and no or less pain.
So, that is hopeful.
Yikes ! Your lips look super dehydrated and painful , like they need an infusion
of hydration immediately.
But what to do ?

Wonder if hyalurinic acid supplements would help.. ?
Good morning ! Am glad Bud was able to eat a good meal.
So sorry about him and your sore lips.
Maybe a dermatologist could recommend something to help ?
The bells look so cute on your Christmas piece. Too bad they won't work.
Wish all of your family member could take care of themselves for a while.
You sure have done your share. Take care of Marly !
Hope your weekend will be a good one.

Marly, please forgive me if I am out of line but oh how I want to help you! Wondering if you could find some ways to deal with things like your dry lips, etc. through a support group? There isn’t any in Pittsburgh area but Northeast Ohio has one and does virtual meetings. Here is how to RSVP for the next one on March 20: If you wish to participate in the “virtual” group meeting, please email – Mary Keefe, the Support Group leader, at: mkkeefe@hotmail.com After you RSVP, Mary will email you the Log-In information for the ZOOM meeting. Remember, I am only an hour away if that. I would be happy to help in any way like cleaning, pulling fabric for you to sort, Hell whatever you need!
Marly, your little sampler just keeps getting better. I love the scallops you added with the bells. I'm glad Bud was able to eat something. I hope there are better days ahead for you. Leave no stone unturned as for finding something to help you health wise. Have a relaxing weekend and take care.....Cherie in WI
I think I'd sew the pillow, then attach the bells. Use several lengths of thread, scoop through the linen, then the bells, tie off and bury the ends inside the pillow. Or instead of doing each bell separately, use longer threads and after fastening the first bell run under the linen to the 2nd, add it, run to the 3rd bell, etc. and then fasten off the threads and bury the tail after the last bell.
Yes, pets are like kids - seems like they always wait to get sick until late evening or weekends when vet/dr is closed. I'm glad you got the valium in Bud and he had a good meal after that. The photo of your lips has me reaching for the lip balm, and to think your eyes feel just as dry... OW! I hope an accupuncturist helps.
Marly I think the Spider Web stitch would look great where the bells are and you can control the color better. Nice Sampler
The scallops are adorable, just seem to frame the piece nicely. Poor bud, nothing like a sick pet. It is heartbreaking. My sympathies for your health, I am sure the frustration is off-the-rails at times. I am a fan of Blistex. I use it 10 times a day, in small amounts, carry it with me, and have it tucked all over the house. buy it by the case. I also use it for dry nails and odd spots that pop up for me. Who knows? Different ideas may or may or may not work. Wish I had a magic wand!
Oh your poor lips. I hope you can get some relief.
Go figure. I had seen that about the 40% coupons. Ticked me off. Our Hobby Lobby finally opened just a couple weeks ago...haven't gotten there since I still can't drive (hopefully Monday) and now no coupons ;-(
Schnikies!! That makes me wince....I can only imagine what your mouth and eyes feel like. It's like "dry" on steroids. Are there no hydration injections of some sort that can help?? Sorry it that is a stupid question, but it just seems to scream "hydrate" me. Sorry also to read of Bud's setback, but was glad to read he was calmed for a bit and got some nutrition into him. You are always in my thoughts even though I may be incommunicado. Only wish I could be of some real help. ~Robin~
