Hi folks. First off, I didn't mean to complain about those ocular issues. I've had them before, this was the first kaleidoscope and quite fascinating. Painless and fairly brief, I just wanted to mention this common disturbance, maybe avoid a panic if you experience one for the first time.
No idea what's next. Maybe a book. Reading, not writing. I'm not doing much at all (except napping), and don't really have anything kitted other than two big girls. Am I really ready for another large sampler? Nope.
I don't like to pry or intrude, but I had a comment left a few weeks ago from Unknown, and it's been bothering me. Their young niece was diagnosed with stage 4 lung, waiting for additional tests, and she has been on my mind. I can't imagine, and if that was your niece, I am so hoping that tests showed treatments are available.
Stay safe everyone.

I do love this little sampler, I like the way all the motifs are close together and the spacing is very good. Imagine a big sampler stitched in the same way. I wonder if Ewe & Eye have any more the same size, you could stitch several on one big piece of linen, a bit like Blackbird Designs do with their little blocks.
So glad to see your posts. I learn lots from your stitching changes and the additional info you provide from your life experiences. The ocular migraine is of interest to me. At times I think that might be what I'm experiencing.....learning more about that. So, THANK YOU for sharing needlework AND other personal experiences - makes a difference!!!

Such a pretty design. Thanks for sharing.
I had to go back and read what you wrote - I see nothing that I'd consider complaining. I found it interesting, as I've only ever had the black and white zig zag version. Besides, it's your blog, you get to decide what to write.
The sampler is sweet - just enough to be Christmasy without being so in your face Christmasy that it might be odd to leave it up year round. I may take another look at this pattern.
I'll be taking a look for this pattern! I love everything about it and your version is beautiful, Marly. Thank you for mentioning the ocular migraine. I think that may be what happened to me a few years back. It scared the bejebbers out of me and thankfully, didn't last long enough to even make my way to ER. I hope and pray you're feeling better . Have a good weekend. Cherie in WI
Love this sweet little sampler, and your changes are perfect! I get the zig-zag ocular migraines which limit my vision and last for an hour or so, and are then followed by the headache. such an inconvenience- who has time to stop everything they are doing until full vision is safely restored? at least it gives me time to prep myself for the coming headache.
Praying for the young niece.
Oh gallant one - bless you for your example and fortitude, not to mention your giftedness and persnickety insistence on it all being just right. Just keep keeping on in sophisticated crab a-s fashion.
Your stitching is beautiful and so is the content. Hoping for better health days ahead for you.
What a sweet little piece!!!
Love your little cross stitch, your color choices and placement were spot on. Thought I would share a SAL I am about ready to start, it`s called Lucy Beam - Though He Seemeth Sleeping. There`s a group on Facebook where people are sharing their floss color choices, linen choices, progress, etc. It`s a colorful beautiful pattern I think. Have a great weekend, wishing you continued good health!
This little piece is very pretty. I like how you personalize! Stay safe.
This is really a sweet little piece....for some reason, it makes me want to smile (an unheard of thing these past few days). I started a little piece too to give me a break from the larger one I am working on but that little piece has had more reverse hooking than progress hooking so what should have been done long long ago is still a WIP. Those kaleidoscopic migraines kinda sound fun. (Hey, it's been a rough couple of days....a colorful distraction would almost be welcome. I don't mean in any way to minimize the suffering of those who experience this condition. ~Robin~
Gosh, after reading about everyone's migraine issues, I realize how lucky I've been to never have had one. I only get weather-related headaches and even those seem to be fewer and farther between these days. Love that simple border you added to this pretty piece, Marly--just perfect!
