Gigi R

No improvement in Carole's condition, but no worse which is good, and still no room for her in Cleveland which surprises me after six days. It may be another week.  Chris has been vaccinated and visits several times a day but I am not.   No concern for Cleveland, larger single patient rooms without the parade of people and changing patients at this one.  My sister is good with that because besides her angel nurses, another has been verbally abusive and nasty to several elderly patients and deserves to be thrown out the fifth floor window.  Even without her broom, I have no doubt she would land on her feet.  My brother told Carole to request the supervisor before being discharged.  Filling out a survey after can be dismissed by the accused claiming a demanding and belligerent patient.  But not if the patient reporting abuse proves to be reasonable and sincere during that meeting.

Tried to relax and browse online, always find samplers from Gigi R that I love. I envision Margret Withrow with vivid colors in the floral border, and after seeing a start of Jane Southward, added her to my growing list of more involved samplers that I would love to work on one day.  I've not spent much time online recently so I have catching up to do.  Stitch and Frog shipped these two the same day I ordered and they'll be here Monday.

I forgot to mention something I learned at the pulmonologist's office.  I am still short of breath and although the lingering anxiety is contributing, he said the recent addition of Metoprolol may be the reason.  Did not know this is a side effect for some people and he said many of his patients experience minor to major changes.  My heart monitor appt was moved to the end of month because of the uncertainly of time frames for Cleveland.  I won't see my cardio for the result until April so I'll mention it then.

Your caring and kind comments, emails, and cards have made a difference and I thank you once again.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

Love the sampler of Gigi R and hope you get the peace to enjoy stichting this little one.
Something what happened to you with this doctor with giving you the wrong diagnose, happened to my husband many years ago. He wrote a mail to this gp --unfortuanilly it didn't help anything to the too late diagnoses and he passed away. What would not have happened when the gp did take the signs serious.
Still sending prayers for you,Carole and Marc and a big hug for you.
Stay save and take care of yourself!!!
Greetings, Truus from Holland

Have had situations with hospital personnel in years past.
One accusing John of pushing his pills on the floor after an intern telling him that his open heart surgery wasn't going to work. The pills were left on the tray, nurse didn't stay to see that the pills were taken. There's a conclusion to this story but too long to write now. Another nasty person who brought food for me from the kitchen.
I believe it is important for the patient to have a family member, close friend, etc. close by to see and hear what goes on.
Still and will continue to pray for you and your family.
I hope you can have a pleasant weekend and enjoy some stitching.

I'm glad to hear things have more or less stabilized with Carole and she hasn't worsened at this point. It will be a relief once she gets help at the Cleveland Clinic. And I hope your diagnosis can be corrected and put on the right path. You sure have been put through the "ringer" with all this.
Its great that you still have the desire and motivation to stitch. I hope that can bring at least a bit of calm happiness whenever you're able to pick up the needle. Keep your spirits up and know there are many out here who are thinking of you.

I'm glad Carole is stable, and that Chris visits daily. Yes, report the nurse before leaving. I hope your breath shortness is medication related, not a worsening or new issue. I wish you didn't have to postpone your appointment, but you can only do so many things at once. Did you at least get your filling fixed?

Those samplers look like interesting stitching. My problem is reproduction sampler patterns I like the overall design, but so many have religious verse. Not my thing. Then I wonder if they couldn't be left off, or changed to something else.

Take care (((hugs)))

Marly: It is good news that Carole is not getting worse, I would ask for a patient advocate to come talk to Carole.
I totally love both Samplers stunning.
Mike had the same problem with Metropolol, they cut his dose in half now no problems, that may not help with other people but it did him.
Still keeping you all in my daily Prayers
Hugs

I am always amazed at the possible side effects of various medicines. I was taking Lipitor for cholesterol for 6 months when I started having massive neurological side effects. Thankfully my PCP was on the ball and immediately stopped the medicine. Unfortunately, those side effects lasted another 6 months. So glad Carole is stable. I am sure space will be found for her soon. That witchy nurse definitely needs to be reported before Carole moves. Wishing you the best with your medical issues also. I really like Jane Southward. I hope you find the time to start one of those soon.

That Jane Southward is a beauty. It looks quite complex. A pox on that nurse who
missed her calling as the wicked witch in OZ. One wonders why she chose a field
requiring compassion or, giving her the benefit of the doubt, we don't know what
cross she may be carrying... still no excuse. So glad Carole is stable and gets
to see Chris. May yours and Mark's be a restful weekend.

You know I am no pollyanna so don't take this the wrong way but Carole is so fortunate that she can have ANY visitors, vaccinated or not. Here, no one can see no one...not an elderly mother who has now been in the hospital more times than I can count since I saw her last a year ago, not a son who was stabbed and taken to the ER, nope, can't go there. Curious if it is your choice not to visit or a hospital rule/policy regarding non-vaccinated individuals? I do hope they make room for her soon. That is a long time to wait for a serious condition. Love both samplers you found....but wouldn't be able to live with Jane's pink. Now there's one color at least that I know I would swap out LOL. And thanks for passing along the info on Metoprolo and shortness of breath. I have been on it for more years than I can count.... Hmmm, odd that of all 3 PCPs I've gone through (long story involving insurance and a medical facility that can't retain physicians), none of them have ever even suggested that possibility....but were quick to send me for breathing studies, make diagnoses and prescribe inhalers. Seems I always learn something from my visits with you. ~Robin~

Carole not getting any worse is a good sign, Marly. Glad to learn that your anxiety may be due to the drug. It makes it easier to cope with. You are not going crazy. Hang in there. Lots of people are pulling for you.

So sorry to hear that Carole still has not been transferred. My mom has shortness of breath and dizziness and has been on metoprolol for years, but it never occurred to me that it might be metoprolol side effects. Continued prayers for you and Carole.
