Sun

It takes a plain critter to eye catching.  Shining a light shows the hidden beauty and these belly and wing colors are the same I chose for the sampler.  Not iridescent like the hen's, but very close. And after removing the miscounted first and only bloom, they will return when stitched again.

Nit attacked Petey this morning and rolled him, Petey is still cool and holding back.  He is much larger than Nit who is silly to not remember that Petey is why his ear has two sections (one paper thin and the other very thick and hairless).  Bud has not eaten anything in days, fresh chicken puree, alone or added to pate, or the flavor he loved Sunday (so we bought a load) and he won't touch it now.  Have you noticed the lack of canned pate?  All these new items are coming out, almost twice the price, and the dozens in our family over the years would never eat anything chunky, sliced or diced.  Bud bolts and paws at his mouth even with liquid.  He's hungry, but afraid.  Put the dish outside, he'll eat.  Garage, he'll eat.  But after two times of bolting from those locations, he's done.  Mark thinks we should take a chance with the mouth surgery regardless of the dire prognosis.  It gives him a slight chance, rather than none and starvation.  But how could we schedule at this time?  This crisis started weeks ago.

This pig will eat anything, anywhere.

Trying to remove as much aggravation as possible.  My last laptop purchase was Lenovo and I am ready for it to leave through a window.  I have never had a touchpad this erratic, frustrating, unstable, and unpredictable as this one made by Elan.  Tried everything, not as many adjustments as Synaptics, online, emails, tech sites, no help.  Tried following advice for driver and such, worse.  Not a big deal unless you can't handle simple disappointments any longer.  Every time the phone rings, it takes me at least 20 minutes to settle down.  It just did.  Chris called Carole, nurse took her phone and told him she is having difficulty breathing and can't talk.  I handled all her doctors, treatments, surgeries, test results, questions, procedures, spewed blame, criticism, irresponsibility, insults, and demands regarding her proper treatment for 20 years.  And now, I don't have the strength to call the nurse for fear of distressing news, and that is unacceptable.  From witch to wimp.  Good book title.

Enjoy your weekend.

Yeah, I like that title too....From Witch to Wimp. All sorts of plot possibilities are coming to mind. Strangely, I do understand the transformation as I have been there myself. I cannot count how many times I have procrastinated a call or a meeting, etc. because I just couldn't handle hearing what I knew I would likely hear. What surgery, exactly, would this be for Bud? (Sorry I do not recall the details, but my brain is overflowing with vet-talk as my Rajah Roo is having some "issues" too). Would they be removing his teeth?? Not sure why I am thinking that.... Do you know about how old he is? Sorry for the 101 questions...no, no need to answer me...I am sure it will come out somewhere along the way or in a lucid moment, I may actually even remember on my own (the latter highly unlikely). Stunning photo of the gobblers...and yeah, you nailed the colors. ~Robin~

Marly, you are sooo not a wimp. Let your family doing the calling. Hospitals have i-pads they can use so you can Facetime/Skype with Carol. Sweet Bud and the other furrballs are lucky to have you. The turkeys are stunning.

Not a wimp, Marly, simply emotionally exhausted. You can only be on high alert for so long and then you can get exhausted. I took care of my sister who ended up with 3 liver transplants, pacemaker, multiple joint replacements, and a kidney transplant. I was exhausted after 18 years. Prayers continuing for all including Bud.

You're not a wimp, you're just scared and that's understandable. Still praying that she has a turn around and comes out of this. Poor Bud. Prayers for him too.

As long as I read your blogs, you are taking care for Carole and Chris. That's a long time so no wonder you are tired of all you did for them.
Hope and praying there will be very soon a turning point in the treatment for Carole and she will be much better very soon.
Take care of yourself too Marly!!!
Lots of love and a big hug, Truus from Holland

You are NOT a wimp, Miss Marly.
Just plain worn out.
Sheldon is going in on Tuesday for treatment of his teeth situation......don't know if they will pull them or scrape them. They said he would be in all day. They don't allow Jill in the office......they come outside to pick him up......had blood work done last week. The Vet said she had it done to her cat and it made a different cat out of it.
If at all possible, it's up to you, but having Buds teeth taken care of may work wonders or NOT. Don't know how weak he is. Don't know what your Vet would say. .
The turkeys are majestic, beautiful, glowing in the sunlight.
Thank you for sharing.
Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. So glad you have Mark to lean on.
Take care.

I know the vet said Bud might not survive anesthesia, but the way he is now, I think I'd take a chance on getting his teeth fixed. Not just for the pain, but if infection sets in, and you can't get medicine in him... As to scheduling, sooner the better, his outcome will probably be known in hours or a day. I haven't noticed the lack of pate canned cat food. But we buy the cheap stuff since we're down to just the outside cats and they aren't fussy. So far.

I never could get the hang of touch pads on laptops, so always used a little wireless mouse. IIRC easy to install and definitely easier to use. Then I covered the touch pad with something so I didn't accidentally do something on that. Then again, if you are not using the laptop on a dest or table, a mouse might not be workable.

As far as Carole and not being able to handle it all, you are far past needing a break. Still sending good thoughts to you (((hugs)))

We get our cat food from Chewy both kinds, Years ago they would don't touch pate. Then my daughter's cat did not like a Pro Pan pate so I tried and my two love. We feed both kinds now. Until they get bored! I don't remember if I told you about my Otto's mystery disease a few years ago we had to take to emergency vet one Sunday$$$$. Well he would not eat, had a high fever, they keep for a while found nothing wrong ( they is a cat condition call unexplained fever) . He was so nervous they decided he was better off at home. Well he would not eat I made "slurry" cat food and water and put in a syringe , gave him a syringe full every hour. The I tried his favorite treat Sheba Meaty sticks ( amazon) and he ate a whole one, I did have to break into tiny pieces and hand feed but he survived on them for days until he finally got out of the bed in the cellar. Keep your spirits up, love those turkeys, we had on e once but I do live in the city!
