After examining next project charts, the same every time, I decided on Rachel. All that's left is linen choice, which is a biggie.
The others will stay in their pouches for now. Ann Spence, Mary Elliott, Jane Southward, Sarah Needham ..... one day when I can focus which may never come. Merry Wind Farm has an interesting new sampler release soon, and the letters and lions caught my eye. But I know errors would abound as in the others.
You have no idea how disgusted I am that Carole ($1230 month income) who pays $225/mo right off the top was turned down for Medicaid. Way below the income limit. They denied because she can't "verify" the few hundred dollar deposits of cash that we gave her when she was in a bind over the last several years. So if you get $200 for a Christmas gift, you need a receipt and notarized statement for verification? It's not the amount they questioned, denial was because she can't verify where the cash came from. Monday can't come soon enough, and I will find the $1000 to pay for an attorney, my wick has burned to the end.
Have great Sunday.
Fricking august. I refuse to capitalize it.

Oh Marly, it is so disgusting to hear that Carole was turned down for Medicaid, and for the reason given! I have faithfully been reading your blog and I can relate to your many problems with poor Carole, your own major health issues, loss of your beloved Bud, outrageous costs of yard and sewer renovations that you were forced to make; it`s all so overwhelming yet you and Mark have handled everything quite well but now another problem for you to deal with? My daughter is currently dealing with government issued money problems, she lost her job in November and received unemployment benefits until February when they mysteriously stopped altogether. She did not receive her stimulus check either. Needless to say we have been supporting her since then but it`s frustrating to hear "We`re looking into it" yet not get any resolution nor income for 5 months! Do you ever feel you`re in an episode of the "Twilight Zone" when dealing with the government, hospitals, and doctors? I can guess how you would respond to that question! Good luck with this latest headache, hoping Carole gets that Medicaid!
Don't know how the care is working in your country, but this seems so strange to me.
Wishing you more strenght to solve this problem....
Take care a big hug and more prayers to you all-- Truus from Holland
Marly, I hate to tell you this, but $1000 is not going to cover a Medicaid attorney. We just went through 10 times that amount to get my mother on Medicaid. Much of that bill is sitting on mom's credit card and we are paying it off slowly. I so understand your frustration. I started the process in December and it took until April to get her approved then months more of tweaking. I wish you the best. Rachel looks pretty. Enjoy the stitching.
If I understand correctly, Medicaid rejected because Carole has no paper trial on the gifts, not the amounts? And her word that they were gifts doesn't cut it? Or does she really not know what was gifts by now? No matter the reason, that Royally Su....Stinks. How in the heck would anyone think to document that sort of thing before it's even an inkling that filing for Medicaid will be needed in the future? Let alone know what the Medicaid rules are for needed documentation. I suppose if you had written checks to her with "gift" in the memo line would not satisfy them either as it's not her records?? Interesting - there's very little info on *receiving* gifts and Medicaid, lots on *giving* gifts though.
Good luck with finding an attorney, if it can save you from some of the work and stress and get Carole on Medicaid, it will be worth the cost. I hope.
