Hi folks. Hard to believe but my sister is so happy with this facility in every aspect, and we certainly see why. I thought silk flowers for her wide window would be a nice surprise. She loves sunflowers, but I was disappointed that JoAnn (my only option with all the store closings) had fall items, no summer. As we pulled out I thought to take a chance at Kraynak's since cemetery vases are always available. Hot damn! Other flowers were plentiful and ONE bunch left of sunflowers. ONE. Taking to her later today.
And then ..... UPMC was wonderful in quickly responding to my inquiry for a second opinion. We got an appt next week in Pittsburgh for a second and final opinion, and .... wait for it ..... this highly rated surgeon also visits the UPMC hospital in New Castle! We've been hearing such great reviews about this place, and where my cousin's life was saved. Still a distance from her but much closer for family. What a relief. Whether she has surgery there or Pittsburgh, follow up visits will be much easier for everyone. I don't believe the recommendation about treatment will be any different, but very grateful that they are willing to offer their help so quickly. Your trust and confidence can be influenced by staff and attitude, so far, high scores from this crabass.
Happy day. Except for the estimate on repairing the yard.
Have a good one!

Lovely flowers and some good news for a change.
That called for a modified happy dance. Prayers that the
facility, physicians, staff and procedures all come together
to ease Carole's condition and to reward your grand efforts
and dedication, Marly.
That is encouraging. So glad she is content with the place as well!
Once in a while there has to be a little good news! Good that Carole likes the facility she‘ s in. It makes it much easier. Enjoy your evening, Marly! Cherie in WI
That is wonderful that Carole likes her place so much, Marly! What a relief for all of you... The flowers your bought her are lovely. We've been sending flowers from our garden to my mother-in-law in her nursing home when my husband visits... sunflowers, glads, and hydrangeas. She's been most appreciative. Will be hoping to more good news after your appt. with the UPMC surgeon next week. You deserve some things to go your way for a change ♥
It's so good to hear that Carole likes her facility. So nice that you were able to find the sunflowers for Carole's room. We are not allowed to go in to the facility my father-in-law is at and can only visit if they bring him outside to sit on the front porch. He doesn't want to be there and not being able to visit anytime has made it really difficult to keep his spirits up. Continued prayers for you all.
Nothing like sunflowers to brighten your day, yes? for her, and yes for you! My best wishes for a good second opinion. So glad you are on a solid path no matter what the outcome.
A bit of good news is always welcome isn't it? Our front yard and backyard is filled with sunflowers as far as the eye can see. Come over and take as many as you want for Carole.
Enjoy this happy time
So happy to hear the good news. Long overdue.
I hope things stay on an improved path - that Carole continues to like the facility, no more prescription foul-ups, that the UPMC works out and gives good clear answers. Bummer on the yard repair estimate - not cheap, but when it can't be left as is and it's beyond a DIY project... ungh
So happy you have some good news for Carole. It has to be a relief to you & her both, that she is finally comfortable where she is. Praying for you & Carole & Mark too. Take care.
Happy to hear some good news! Lovely idea to buy these sunnflowers-- it brightens up the day.
