Hi folks. Mark is sick and in bed, I doubt he will be much better tomorrow. I've been watching the anniversary specials, staying home, so ordered what we need for pickup and Chris will get it for me. I will never get used to no saliva and eye drops every 15 minutes, but not being able to drive because of that, is maddening. I'm assuming he will be well enough to drive for her intervention in Pittsburgh Thursday. I have my lung CT Tuesday followed by an office visit for results, I can have someone take me.
The Ale I love more than the other piece is brighter, lighter. I swore I would not mess with dyes and dips again, but I did. Last time! I always test a corner and this time the entire edge was needed. The diluted dye is actually a greenish brown but any dampness to the linen lightened it to a warmer hue, a water drop lightened to yellow. This did not happen on the three other PTP linens, so I am lucky that I proceeded with caution on this one and realized the test spots were actually removing color, not adding. Very light touch with only a damp sponge, better than before, done. Close call.

I impressed the facility's finance department and ambulance company with this announcement - she was approved for Medicaid! They said it would not happen for at least another month and didn't believe me until they checked the account number I submitted. She also found out that they won't be making her leave her room and go into the rehab section after surgery, she can stay where she is. Two things bothering her were settled favorably.
The landscaper stopped in earlier and checked the area again, I told him I can't think straight or make decisions right now so just fix the yard and remove these concrete pieces and mud. Talked for quite a while and he gave me another price that we can live with and he will come this week. He doesn't live far from me and their house is unbelievable. Enormous, acreage, steep copper roof, outbuildings for guests, stunning. Very nice, professional, friendly, honest, excellent work by his employees that he inspects daily.
I hope your Sunday is enjoyable. I plan to browse for charts, no more linen. And pull a 32 count for testing Sulky and floche. Thanks for suggesting, I do have several colors somewhere.
Stay safe.

Your infinite patience with colors and dyes never ceases to amaze me! From you, I have learned how to pick up those undertones that would not suit. Thanks for that.
Sorry the hubs is unwell, always something, isn't it? So, so glad the Medicaid has been approved! What a relief.
Take care, someday we will be semi-normal again, I think our world has changed forever though. Learning to adapt and "live around" the obstacles is a full-time job.
So glad Carole was approved for Medicaid. One less worry. I hope Mike feels better soon. I love how you worked with the dye!
Marly: It is good news for once on Carole.
So sorry Mark is ill, I hope he is feeling better soon.
I like the fabric color you are doing.
I have never dyed a fabric, maybe I should try it sometime.
Nice to hear your contractor is nice to work with, sometimes some of them just want to rip people off.
Have a great weekend.

I am learning many things I wish I didn't know about linen...none of them good...but, yes...one is that the same color in different counts will NEVER be the same and neither will different cuts of even the same count from the same seller. So very frustrating. Between that and the love/hate relationship with overdyed flosses, I might be persuaded to give up stitching...again. Given these past few weeks, I pretty much have already I guess. Hope it's nothing serious with Mark and hope he is on the mend soon. Mine's been in ICU all week. ~Robin~
Praying that Mark will recover soon and that it's nothing serious. So glad you have each other to lean on.
Happy for Carole and the Medicaid.
I don't do the beautiful samplers that you do so I'm not fussy about what I used to stitch on.
Do like the darker colors of Aida 14.
Glad you have a good landscaper and hope he will follow through on his word.
Take care, stay well and God bless !

Poor Mark and he will be fit again very soon.
Great news for Carol and do hope it will stay as it is for now.
Happy you found a great landscaper to do your garden and it will look as his garden afterwards.
Have a good Sunday, take care and sending healing prayers.
Big hug for yoy Truus from Holland
Happy to hear a bit of good news coming from you; regarding Carole, your linen, and the gem of a landscaper you found! What ever happened to the cutie you hired several years ago? If I remember correctly he wasn`t the most reliable but was easy on the eyes (haha.) Sure hope Mark is feeling better soon and continued good wishes for your own ongoing health issues. Take care!
Hopefully your landscaper won't disappoint you. So hard to find good, reliable help.
Yeah for Carole.
I hope Mark is feeling better by now. But - WooHoo on Carole being Medicaid approved! That does Royally Su...umm...I mean Stinks about the driving. And I totally understand about the not being able to drive. And I don't live where grocery delivery is available.
You sponged on the dye this time? I'll have t keep that trick in mind if I ever need to tweak linen color. I was thinking dunking the whole thing was the only way for some reason. Sponging seems like it might be much easier to get the desired mottled coloring.
Linen being a natural fibre is a fickle beast!! I dye wool and have never...not will I ever dye a piece! Your a brave lady!!
I'm sorry your hubby is sick but I'm happy for your medical coverage! It makes such a difference when someone is ill.
Fall is coming to us at nights here in Southern Ontario, Canada and our leaves are starting to change...it is time for the cozy Jammie's I think. I hope you all have a beautiful week.
I'm so happy to hear Carole was approved for Medicaid, Marly! Sure hope things keep going her way... Hope Mark feels better soon--lots of stuff is going around right now so I hope you don't "catch it."
Your ventures into the dyeing world always amaze me--something I have never attempted (nor ever will :). I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow--fingers crossed! Take care now ♥
