but I'm not reliable.
Just in case you are considering a linen order based on my comparisons, don't. On the right is the first order of 40 count Antique Lace, LOVE, and the second order is on the left. Nuh-uh. The other colors in the order are fabulous (Prairie Grass and Tobias). Tobias is similar in depth to Ale but more golden. But what a second order would be only the dye gods know. Now I have 36 and 40 count linen to use, nice to have an inventory (even a small one) to check against thread colors when looking at a new project.
I had to order HATS Rosa Sugars after seeing Brenda's finish, which does not make sense. I do not enjoy stitching borders and avoid at all costs, I don't like bright colors, and did not need another project. There 'ya go. I looked at the history and the model was stitched on 56 count. Stitches would be the size of over one on 28? But with twice the linen threads which to me, would make it much more difficult.
Rachel's trees do look OK if not magnified. I used the needle point to pry open the tightly pulled linen threads, move floss to the corners to make a true X, steamed and pressed while stretching slightly. The result is not the best, but getting there was very tedious.
Finally received a response to messages, surgery is scheduled for Oct 22, with both surgeons on the same day. We talked about the contradictions and confusion, some of which she was unaware. We cannot request the anesthesiologist but being the first case of the day, we have a shot.
The township installed the culvert pipe and finished yesterday, today the landscapers are planning to repair the yard, cover and seed, including the newly installed 15" pipe.
Have a good one.

I hope there's no further derailments or other conflicts this time for Carole's surgery. Good that the doctor knows of the issues from the last surgery attempt, especially ones she didn't know of. And it's good the culvert is done before the landscaper shows up, so all can be done in one shot. Here's hoping the landscaper does show.
You are helping with the linen ordering - I now know its a crap shoot as to whether hand dyed linens will be close to what I see on screen. And that it won't be only me that gets linen that's nothing like what is shown. I wonder if somewhere in your mind, it's saying you need some brightness and change, even if only in your stitching, to counteract the things you've been dealing with for the last year(?).... Rachael is looking good.
Playing blog catch up. It is so easy to fall behind...sigh.
You and your linen...lol. How many lifetimes do you have to have to use half of it? Kind of like me and wool and hooking patterns!!!
Prayers that all go as planned for Carole.
Hoping your landscaper shows up. I get so tired of no shows ;-(
Marly: Good news about both docs being there on the same day.
It must feel good to have the culverts in, I know it would be for me, I hope they get the landscaping done quickly, I am sure you are tired of looking at the mess, I know I would be.
I really like this design, how about a 46 count fabric?
You are like me I order linen and get several different shades even when they come from the same dye lot.
Have a wonderful week-end
Catherine
Good news about the two doctors are there at the same day. So now it will go all well for Carole.
Did the landscapers showing up and now it is all fixed?
I don't know about the design you have bought. I like to have a alphabeth in it and not to much brightness in the colors.
Take care and sending prayers your way, Truus from Holland
I feel your pain.... I had ordered some Antique Lace and loved it, but needed a different count for a project I am contemplating so ordered it in that count and it doesn't even look like the same family even.... So, then I ordered it a count just b/w the two I had and the third didn't match either of the other two. Crikey. It sound like things are beginning to smooth out...both in your yard but also on the Carole front. Must feel good to get some resolution to things. ~Robin~
