Wooly balls

If you have pets, be very careful with the wool snowballs that are a big seller this year.  I read that several pups thought the little balls were for play or food and the wool felt stuck in their throats.  Please pass on to friends!

I have one more color to fill in the right border (still not stitching the white until the end), and will go back to removing the entire center motif including the wonky gold rice.  One of the reasons they aren't even or "firm", this area was frogged once before (thread was too light) and the same linen threads have been poked one time too many.  Another reason they lost their body is from dyeing and washing, which could have been a number of times.  I'll use Best Press to size and stabilize the linen threads, should help the stitches be more uniform.  Then, on to the house and beast.

We're going to Pittsburgh Monday for Carole's appointment.

Very soon ..... December.  Closer to summer.

I had no idea about the dryer balls, but can see how it can happen. Poor puppies. I wonder if backing the linen with fabric (or another bit of the same linen?) in that spot would help support the stitches? OTOH, it might make the rice stitches a PITA to stitch? No idea, I've not done that stitch yet. I'm SO not ready for full-on winter, but I guess looking forward past it to spring might help a bit.

Rachel is looking good!

Marly: You have made great progress, this really is an amazing design.
Thank-you for the information on the dryer balls, I was watching the beach vet series yesterday, they had oner dog and one cat come in on the same day with needles stuck in their throats, something else to think about, I count my needles while stitching to make sure none are missing.
Yes we are getting closer to summer, the days start gaining light on December 22 yahoo.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving

Passing along your suggestion on the wool balls to Daughter...many thanks. This sampler has become one of the loveliest you have done in my memory...despite the grief it posed for you, you have created a beauty. Hope you can resolve the irregularities and put it
to bed in true Marly perfection. May your time with Carole be encouraging and wishing
you and yours a most blessed Thanksgiving holiday. Keep the faith, courageous one.
