Good grief

My head is pounding like the carpenter that installed my fun-house stair rail.

I'm stitching the clappers with the darker thread directly over the gold.  It's perfectly fine.  Better?  I think so.  But I realized it was much darker than the top border's gray.   I used the wrong gray and didn't realize it, but it's perfectly fine too.

Do you dislike those solitary stitches as much as I do?  This time, I just kept running the thread around to the next single.

The red I chose for Santa is Brick from WDW and it is really dark.  Not a purplish red, just very deep cranberry.  Not my usual Christmas red but I think it looks really good on this Faun linen with the other threads.  Until I decide it doesn't and change it.

Last week of the year.  One more closer to summer.

Have a good one!

I can just tolerate the single stitches if I can hide the threads under other motifs. Now confetti stitches I sometime just do not do! Like the bell border very pretty.

I do what you do with running the thread under other stitches most of the time. Not a fan of confetti stitches!

I marvel at those who enjoy and have mastered confetti stitching... I try not to "run"
the thread on single stitches, but have done so when it was practical... How we sweat
the small stuff, right? Hope today is an easeful recovery day with a slower week ahead.

The clappers look much better. Remember Claude's clapper caper? That cracks me up every time!
Love the little tree vignette.
Getting a little colder here in northern Ohio, but considering it's almost January, I can't complain...too much.

Pretty stitching Marly. I dislike the single stitches too and will run the thread whenever possible. Also - had not heard of the designed from the Netherlands you mentioned in your last post - cute stuff - thank you for sharing. Happy New year.

Happy Last Monday of This Wretched Year GF.... Yup - you done good on the clappers. And yes, I run the threads for solitary stitches...and, yes, I DESPISE solitary stitches. I think I have b*#ched about them on my blog more than once. And, once again, I learned something reading your blog the the comments. I never knew what that those stitches out in the middle of nowhere miles from other stitching were called "confetti" stitches. How very apropos. ~Robin~

The bells are so much better with the dark clappers. Confetti stitches can be a pain! I balance my decision on whether to end threads or run them under other areas on which will use more thread vs ease of running under and if the running threads won't show through the linen.

I hope your headache is better today. Last Monday of another crap year gone. I'm hoping 2022 doesn't end up being 2020 too.
