Here she comes!

After an absolutely maddening day of phone calls and checking on incorrect information, contacting various outlets, getting prices, days, times, measuring doors, calling therapists, I booked a five hour window Friday, got a transport chair that will fit through that opening WITH a leg extension, she will be home for a visit.

Making stuffed shells without my favorite Polly-O ricotta, avocado*fresh mozarella*baby tomatoes with honey and balsamic, garlic bread, and cheesecake for dinner.  Busy day today and tomorrow and I am NOT happy with any of the other ricotta.  It is what it is.

Her goal and plan is to return home once her rehab and one prosthetic (for help with transfers) is completed, maybe two months.

I was involved with catching up on flosstube videos and didn't start Mary, decided to check on Rachel who has been quite lonely.  Finished the right border and outline, beneath the house, and it lined up!!  YAY!!  Lots of over one coming but I can handle it.  After what Carole has been through for ten months and my friend going through with a devastating diagnosis, I'm going to complain about over one?  Put those large white cotton full coverage old lady big girl panties on and shut your pie hole!!  Oooh.  Pie.  I have apples.

I love my battery candle, and am thrilled with being able to have that glow very near to stitchery and fabric.  Carole is happy with hers and my friend hasn't received her gift yet.  Maybe next week we will get together.

Ending a rotten year, but we are still here to bitch about it.  Blessed.

I like that ricotta also, but I have to admit that I am pretty easy going about most of them. So glad that Carole is going to be able to visit. I am wishing you smooth sailing on that day. It is always a good day when borders line up. Rachel is so pretty. I like your candle. We definitely have to be grateful that we are here to ring in another new year. All the best.

Marly.... I've only been following you for a few weeks, now. You are such a lovely person. I love all the updates concerning Carole. As a past caregiver, I know that it takes a lot of strength and love to keep going. She is so blessed to have you. To be honest, I have no clue about ricotta. Although, I can recommend a good Texas barbeque in my small town of Edna, TX, if you happen to visit us. Also, I absolutely love your decor and your stitching. Please continue to share. And share your winter snow with us. I miss it so much. Seeing your pretty pictures are absolutely wonderful ( I rarely see a flurry). I look forward to your post. Thank you for being you...

Oh, thank goodness, so happy, relieved, joyful that Carole will be able to come home for a visit. Your meal sounds scrumptious. Doubt that the ricotta will be missed or noticed.
It's been such a long haul for Carole and you as her care giver and everything else rolled in a ball.
Apple pie sounds good, had one for Christmas dinner. Frozen kind but delish.
I love the battery candles, have some in all sizes, red ones, green, yellow, white and a Judy Condon prim brown.
Praying for all to go smoothly, without incident, for Carole's return. Bless her heart !
Hugs,
Charlotte in Va.

Wow, I hope you didn't get whiplash going from Carole not visiting her home to she will on Friday. Sorry it was not a good day pulling it together that fast, I hope it all goes well. I'm glad to hear it is in plans for her to go home again, not be in facility from now on.

I've only ever had ricotta from the regular grocery, or in purchased frozen shells. I probably wouldn't know the difference in something with lots of distractions like lasagne, but can see how it would make a huge difference in stuffed shells. I bet the shells are tasty even with the "wrong" ricotta. Rachel is looking great, and WooHoo on the borders lining up! I know stitching 1 over 1 won't be the funnest (is so a word - I says so), but go ahead and complain. No, in the grand scheme, it's not a big a deal as what Carole's been through, but it's not good to bottle it up. inside. i'm going to have to check out the candles, yours are pretty.

I am sure Carole will be thrilled just to be with you, never mind about what is for dinner. Except it sounds great to me. Love those candles next to Lucy. My first sampler stitched after years away and did on 18 count…she is huge I am thinking of using to cover an ottoman, hahaha. Hoping the new year is better for us all.

You are indefatigable when it comes to honoring and caring for Carole. Here is hoping the whole visit process goes smoothly and that you all have a warm and enjoyable time.
I agree about the Polly-O, although I am not the expert you are . Dinner will be scrumptous. Good news that Carole will return home whenever...this should give her something to embrace and worked toward. Rachel is such a beautiful sampler and you do her great justice...happiness is matching the borders. Wishing you a New Year of
health and the realization of your hopes. Please take care of yourself and surround
yourself in peace wherever possible, dear one. Blessings.

How wonderful Carole will be able to come home for a visit...and hopefully permanently soon. What a horrible journey it has been for her...and you. I think I am going to start calling you St. Marly. You are a wonderful sister. As I've said before, she is so lucky to have you. I feel so sorry for the elderly who have no one to advocate for them.
So good to see you stitching so much once again...and you are fast.
Happy, happy New Year. Here's to a better 2022.
xoxo
