Stitching journal

Hi folks.  I've looked at all the journals for stitching and liked one more than others, but decided to try my own.  I don't have Word or any of those programs, I just use Paint, started with Properties and sized for two 5.5 x 8.5 per sheet, wide left margin for punching.  Made 25 b/w copies at Staples for less than $5 which yielded 50 pages when cut.  Their copiers have heavy, bright white, beautiful sheen finish paper, so much nicer than my copy paper.

I had two designs from online free clip art, and the oval printed more clearly so that's what I used.  Two 6 x 9 disc style (Arc) notebooks and mini punch would work well.  Very versatile since you can purchase larger rings for a very thick book, clear pockets, plastic tabs, dividers, and lots of other accessories.  A mini 3-ring binder would do as well.  I have Title, Designer, Started, End, Fabric, Size, Threads, Substitutions, Finishing, and Notes.  The dividers will be marked for Samplers, Christmas, Smalls, and Misc.  It's a shame I didn't start this forty five years ago.  But I had a mane of wild hair and plenty of estrogen.  Who wanted to be organized and efficient outside of the office?
This sweet 5x7 was a few bucks at TJMaxx and I am using it as a daily record.  It's a planner but each day has plenty of room for recording daily stitching progress, changes, notes, and obscenities.

Eyes were bad today so not much accomplished, but I did remove his breast color and change to 403, a little more apricot.  The house and bottom area will probably take some time but without having to count and continually check a wandering vine, maybe not!

Have a good Monday.

I love your stitching journal...much more "proper" than mine. Mine is somewhat a hodgepodge, like me I suppose...but I don't need all that space you do as I don't stitch near as quickly, as much, or as seriously, as you do. I have tidbits of useless info tacked in there, old ephemera that amuses me, etc. It serves it purpose I suppose...although, come to think of it, I am not sure what that purpose is LOL. Although it does help me with knowing what floss I have without running up and down the stairs and looking 101 places. Bluebird is looking Tweet.... ~Robin~

Very nice journal. It's great that the printing could be done at Staples. Nice, rich looking binder for it too.
My daughter is making her own daily, weekly, monthly planner for her work. Adding pictures of her favorite TV show personalities, for inspiration in the work place.
She has seen robins already, on the grounds of the community college where she works.
Wishing for you a blessed week ahead.

Well done on creating your own stitching journal pages, Marly! Would love to know more about the binder system you are using.

You made a very nice journal setup. I've been tempted to buy or make one, but I'm fairly certain I'd never keep it up. Not to mention get enough stitched that it wouldn't be nearly empty.

Bluebird is looking good.

Marly: Nice pages to keep track of your work, I really like the idea of keeping track.
I do like the design you are working on; you stitch so many designs that are so pretty.
I hope Carole and you are doing well.

Your journal looks like a good place to document your stitching. I'm not that organized but would love to have someone keep one like yours for me!
You've made good progress on the bluebird piece and will probably have it finished pretty soon.
Hope Carole's appts. go as scheduled with good reports.

Lovely stitching Marly. I also really like your stitching journal - especially the fact that there is plenty of room for obscenities!!!
