Done.
Jean Donaldson 1826 from Cross Stitch Antiques.
Mark took me for a haircut, she cuts a V at the nape for longer sides (for my female comb over) and when I got home I thought the V could be a smidge higher. Was unknowingly holding that clump at an angle, tried to blend it, V became a W, then an inverted U, and now a disaster. Will I ever learn? There is no such thing as a smidge when correcting hair cuts at home.
She has a new puppy, in constant motion, constant grabbing, everything in the mouth, and she hops like a baby goat. Terribly sharp teeth and the little tap on the nose bridge doesn't deter her biting one bit. The coins in the empty soda can, scared the hell out of me, she didn't flinch. Once she found a clip on the floor to bat around, it was like watching a hockey game at high speed. So stinkin' cute. And her haircut is nicer than mine.

Marly: She truly is a beauty, you have an eye for lovely Samplers.
So sorry about your hair, maybe you have started a new look.
Catherine
Marly, I honestly like your sampler better than the original. Nice job!!!
Don't worry about your hair cut. You can't see the back so I feel that what you can't see shouldn't bother you and it probably doesn't look as bad as you think.
Hi Marly!
Boy, do I love your finished sampler! Such beautiful work!
Just for the record…..I had to promise my hairdresser that I would never cut my own bangs again…that’s how bad they would be!
Sampler is fabulous!!!! Hairdresser: Did you cut your bangs? Me: yes couldn't stand them anymore. Hairdresser: I can tell! You aren't the only one who gets out her scissors.
Talk about rapid....the finished sampler is so beautiful. One would never guess you
"labored" over it...so serene and professional. Never, never attempt to "correct"
a snipped do on your own..unless you have eyes in the back of your head. It probably
looks better than you think. Let yourself have a relaxing weekend.
Beautiful sampler!!!
Well, I certainly needed this post at this point in time. My hair is so incredibly long it is driving me NUTS so I have been putting it up...but then I feel naked around my neck (and I can't handle turtle necks...and scarfs don't cut it indoors with yoga pants and hoodies.) I have been tempted to get the scissors...but I have hesitated because I can't even cut paper straight. I know I already commented on Jean D on IG, but wow...she really is a masterpiece Marly. I am seriously thinking about moving her up on my dance card...but I don't think I could take on that much stitching. You made it look deceptively easy...border and all. ~Robin~
Beautiful sampler. Learned about puppies many years ago. A week ago adopted a senior at the shelter - nine years senior to be exact. No nipping, chewing, house breaking, etc. A wonderful dog.
Gorgeous!! You are sooooo good with color and having a knack for how to "fix" a sampler to make it prettier and more balanced. I wasn't aware the chart cover was SO different until I saw them side by side. Wow!! Nailed it!!! :-)
Your sampler is just beautiful! Hope you're wearing a big smile following all of your frustrations with her. Aren't you glad she's come to live with you!
Love Jean!!! You made her into a beauty and it has already a seam too!
Have a great weekend and take care, Truus from Holland
You are more adventurous than I at cutting my own hair. Trimming my bangs when I had them or the ends when it was long enough to pull it all around to the front was enough for me. I'd have to be super duper most extremely desperate, or peeved beyond words, to try and cut my own hair on the back of my own head.
Jean turned out great! You done good on the color changes on the peacocks.
