Today

started out dark, rainy, nasty.  Ended clear blue and sunny.  You never know what to expect, and for my area it rarely changes dramatically in one day.

So I saw my nurse practitioner and yes, I do have a blockage leading to the lower chamber.  She started explaining a heart cath and since I drank too much grapefruit juice yesterday resulting in the trots, told her to move it along.  I declined the cath since my symptoms are mild, and instead asked about HeartFlow.  She seemed surprised but I explained that I research everything to know my options.  It's a CT scan and CAD program (or something) that shows the heart vessels, blood flow and percentage/area of the block.   Only one close to me, but the doctor in charge of the testing/reading recently passed away suddenly.  She will check for another location and also fight with medicare, not covered.   Safer and cheaper than a cath, but you know  ...  government.  A stent is only used if blockage is seventy percentage or higher, so my situation would probably be an invasive test, more of an exploration, resulting without treatment.  The scan will give an indication of how close to that number I am and whether invading my arteries is warranted.

Went to the Italian store this morning, got the ravioli.  Mark has a batch of sauce simmering with sweet sausage instead of the pork ribs he usually uses.   And I am relaxing, hoping my medical crap will have answers, and that a medication can help slow these palps.  She believes they are from the year of stress and just unable to leave.

So here's Jeny progress.  Stitching grass takes almost as long as growing it.

Mom and son have been nasty to each other for a while but today, they are both snoozing peacefully.

Met with the prosthetic pros and Carole will be getting one leg's device in a few weeks.

Hope your day ended brighter than it began!

Good babies! Your Jeny is looking great. The greens are perfect. It's the greens and browns that I always fuss over the most, hardest for me to be pleased for some reason. I wish I could stitch even half as fast as you can, I'm always amazed at what you accomplish.

Marly, sounds like you have some answers and that’s good for your own peace of mind. Try to relax as much as you can over the weekend. After all, it’s a good reason to sit and stitch! Jeny is really coming along! Happy Easter! Cherie in WI

Praying for the best solution for you, meaning the CT scan will be the best. Hope a stent will not be needed. Stress is a killer and you've really had your share. Good news for Carole.
Momma and baby should get along. Sheldon and Pippa have their days and have to be spoken to.
Your stitching is amazing.........hope it relaxes you while you're doing it.
Beautiful day here yesterday.........so much to be done in my yard and not much help. I do a little bit at a time...it will get done.
Thinking of you !

I hope it works out for the HeartFlow thing, both getting it done *and* covered. I also hope Carole (and her family) sees fit to lower expectations of you being at her beck and call, now that there's definitive proof you do have a very real health issue.
I sort of envy Momma cat - she has the liberty to smack her young one upside the head now and then. I think every mom has wanted to do that at some point. But most of us don't carry through with it.
Kick back, rest up, and stitch away! Jeny looks good.

It is good that you are on your way to some answers but tragic that our health is in the hands of insurance and govt bureaucracies which do not have our best interests as their priority. But, yes, stress affects our physical and mental health in untold ways. Wish I could smell that sauce. Sun came out here, but it is frigid...we had sticking accumulating snow yesterday and horrid winds the past 4 days and night. Since wind puts me on edge, I am ready to fall off. ~Robin~

You? Under stress? Say it isn't so...lol.
Hopefully you can get some answers...and soon...without having to fight for your health...adding to more stress. (But did you know that stressed spelled backward is desserts?)
Happy Easter!

Well, at least you are off to some answers and hopefully not requiring the most drastic route.
Marly dear, if you have been convinced that stress has attributed to your condition, you should also be convinced that avoiding it whenever and wherever possible will contribute to your recovery. Set yourself on vacation mode for this Easter week and go about finishing that exquisite sampler - you amaze with your accomplishment... eat to enjoy and rest whenever you
are so moved... Holding you up in continued prayer. A very blessed Easter to you and Mark.

Glad you have a few more answers, Marly. Thankfully, you are always on top of things and do your research first. I am the same way and the doctors always seem surprised when I pipe in with what I've read. Hope you get the procedure that works best for you! Stress can cause so many terrible health symptoms and you've had just about more than a person can bear. Try to relax more often and put yourself first now and then--you deserve it ♥
