Following the chart color of 407 for the border, but changed the 3777 to 347. I think the really bright red looks close to the original piece and a little more primitive. Surprising since muted and dusty is the norm for an aged look but on this coarse dark linen, none are. Can't figure that out but it is what it is. And I like it.
We went to four Amish greenhouses in search of the Vista petunias in Bubblegum pink, Silverberry, or Paradise. Carole wants ferns and Bubblegum for her house as always, and I was so worn out I decided to purchase the same for here. Only one greenhouse had the Bubblegum, no other Vista colors. We found one large Vista mix in another greenhouse, that was it. Prices were quite high so I am glad the tunia we were looking for was in the smallest 8" pot and less $$. I am very surprised that the other colors weren't available and especially that the Bubblegum best seller was not even offered at several places. Or were they already sold before Mother's Day?
Happy hump day.

Have been thinking about you and your favorite Bubblegum pink tunias.
The only thing I've bought is a red geranium.....small one. I'd like to have a fern, but am cutting back this year. Transplanting hostas and potting a few for my deck. Pulling up and planting violets on our kitties graves. Would love to have the whole area filled with violets.
Sweet picture of Missy. She's a pretty girl.
Love the weather we're having............83 on Sunday !
Charlotte in Va.
I wouldn't be surprised if covid is affecting the varieties available. Hubby bought dirt yesterday's it was sky high.
I enjoy your blog.
Your new small sampler is looking good, Marly. I haven't seen any pink petunias lately around here. Mostly purples and white! Have a good day!
We went shopping for our flowers & garden on Saturday & the usual places we go to have very few supertunias of any color. I did finally find some bubblegum. The sales clerk said they were selling fast. Glad you found some. Your new project looks great!
I have always enjoyed doing 2 over 2...and I'm not ashamed to admit it LOL. Seems like there are a lot of count snobs out there. That brighter red looks awesome on that darker linen. I think that rustic linen needs a bolder, more full-bodied, color. I have not even thought of doing flowers...and hope that continues. I know I will miss them, and if I go near a greenhouse, I will cave. But my back has been so unpredictable that I don't want to get some and then not be able to take care of them. Does it surprise me that the color queen is having difficulty finding the correct color garage door?? Nah....not at all. 🤣 ~Robin~
Last year in the SF bay area I never could find any of the Bubblegum and had to settle on a different color, and even that took a lot of searching. Hoping I get lucky this year.
I love the two over two! That is surely my speed:) No petunia shopping for me until the weekend, I am hoping I can find them here. I have seen lots of marigolds, violas, and geraniums. My regular petunia supplier has none. She said they look like they are going to be limited this year. I asked her to keep me informed.
We all know that you will find the right color for your doors, you color queen you!
Surprised you are already that far with the new sampler!
Also here in the Netherlands no bubblegum pink petunia's. Other colors available but not your favorite!
Good luck with finding the right color for the door,Truus from Holland
I am new to your blog and really enjoy it! Would you tell or show us how you "age" your sampler? I did cross stitch over 30 years ago and have come back to it, a lot has changed and I feel like I am learning all over again!
