What up?

Does anyone still say that?  I hope not.

The same large projects that I consider starting after every finish, are back on the table.  If they were kitted and I did not have to find a linen that works and is also large enough, it would be easier.  I should do that.  Sure.

So I chose (in keeping with all the reds lately) Gigi R's ... Petite Fille en Rouge.

Another small, quick, darling project.  I pulled threads, some left over GAST and some DMC to my liking.  The linen is 36 count and was originally C&C's Oatmeal.  It was dark, more like a taupe-ish cocoa brown, but my other small pieces were too gold.  So I crumpled and dipped in a bit of Goldenrod/Dark brown dye and the change is barely noticeable.  Just a bit warmer, just enough.  May start this evening after the Advil kicks in to calm the 3.5 hours in the dentist's chair this morning.

We're having a maple tree cut down tomorrow morning which is a terrible feeling.  It was originally three trunks, now two, and leaning.  My neighbor owns the business and just stopped by to let us know.  Oh crap.   I just realized we have to pay him!  It's been so long since we hired him that I didn't even think about cost!  Damn skippy.

Have a good day tomorrow, be well, be safe.

Sometimes the gathering of the threads & linen are the hardest part of a project. I finally got the 40 count Vellum for His Eye Is On the Sparrow, but have I cut it yet? Nooooooo! Have I gotten down to root through the frame stash for 1776 & October Moon? Noooooooo!

I like your newest project choice - a nice change from samplers full of alphabets, words, or little motifs all over.

Good luck with the tree! I love maples and am sad to hear one is coming down, but I understand. Mary Bell turned out so pretty Marly - very nice. And your newest choice is a good one too. I've been toying with some very large samplers (Red Deer by Gigi R, And All Was For an Appil by the Scarlet Letter, etc., etc.). I need to order some fabric.

I do love this new choice to stitch! Anxious to see her all done up…what, will that take you about 2 hours or so??!!
Good luck with your tree. We once had one that needed to come down. I balked and balked (because I hate to see a tree come down) till it fell across our street. Thank God no one was hurt and that it didn’t fall on our house! Now I am not so hesitant when someone tells me to get a tree down! Damn stubborn gene!

Awww....la petite fille is precious! I'm not sure I recall seeing her before...but like Vera, I've contemplated Red Deer on more than one occasion. So many wanna-do's...and such a short attention span these days. Good luck with the tree thing...it'd be traumatic for me. I have 2 huge old white pines that should have been dealt with years ago but never were and now the lower branches are becoming a nuisance. I wish there were an easy way to pull them out and replace them...they are directly across from my big kitchen window and will be missed. And then there's my willow... 😢 I hate losing trees. And I shiver at the expense and mess. ~Robin~
