Bumps along the way

Like this one.  Accessorizes my chipped off front tooth.  I never felt it.  Was working close to the woods and pine trees, came inside and saw a little red spot.  By last night, it looked like a ravioli, perfectly round.  No itch until I touch it, and I believe it is water filled.  It's getting smaller, leaning to the other side of the family, morphing into a pierogi.  Husband wanted to take me to ER and that's ridiculous.  Heart rhythm is nuts at times but that happens often.

And Missy got up last night and used the litter box, took a little of the Lil Shakes liquid food, is better today.  I was able to get a look at that swollen leg and saw that the bite went through to the inside of her thigh.  Two inch above the joint is quite dense, no cat's tooth is that long.  It's possible that there are two bites and just happen to line up.  We see her fur in the grass but never heard the sounds of a battle.  Odd for another cat to come this close and attack in daylight.  I drop peroxide on the holes when I can, and will hope for the best.  My brother can get the liquid amoxicillin, but administering may not be possible.

Now about that Kezia.  Yes, I am certifiable when it comes to colors, but this was a definite needed improvement.  I tried the 935 and it was nice, but no oomph.  So I decided it has to be as it should with 890.  When testing, I pulled the wrong bag and used 712 instead of the 739 (the light threads in the motif).  Wow.  Love!  So I removed the 3011 and 739 and all future border bumps will be as the last one.  What a difference.  I hope to fill the 712 in this afternoon, turn my bump into a gnocchi when I smile.  If that green bugs me in other areas I can sub the 935, but it will stay in the border.  Brighter is better, especially on darker linen.  Thank you Adele, I am so glad you offered help, would not have seen the light.

Have a good day.

Thanks for visiting.

I don't know how much you're able to handle her but the best way to deal with a bite like that to avoid a big infection/abscess is to clip the fur around the bite as short as you can get it. I usually try to get two inches in diameter. If I'm really lucky and have a compliant cat I'll use electric clippers. It's quick and gets that fur really short. Next step is to wash it with diluted Hibiclens (I use 2 parts water 1 part Hibiclens). For cats I can't get to submit to a quick stand in the sink, I just put it in a water bottle with a "sport cap" and get up next to them when they're sleeping and squeeze about a quarter cup over the bite and try to rub it in and then spray and wipe with clean water ten minutes later when they've calmed down a bit. A real pain but if you can manage it you'll be in good shape for avoiding an expensive vet visit or worse. An emergency vet dr. gave me this advice years ago and it works very well.

Marly, that looks like a bad bug bite. Take benedryl....several. and keep a close eye on it. Pound those benadryl if you have to - it will help with the itching, swelling and any attendant breathing problems. If you go to the ER they'll just give you a shot of adrenaline and benadryl. Be careful. People die from bad bites. I almost did.

I hope there's not another dog roaming your yard. I also hope that Missy will recuperate without any major problems.
Now, you need to take care of that bug bite since you don't know what kind of bug it was.
I've found that getting older means that some of us have to be more careful, take things slower, think about what we are doing to protect ourselves and don't try to over do.
As for your color choices, you amaze me. I should keep a copy of all of the colors that you mention as I may want to use them on some of my stitching..........instead of the ones chosen for that piece.
Take care, have a safe, good weekend.

Hi Marly: It looks like a spider bite I had a couple weeks ago, I used Neosporin, I also used Neosporin on my cat's bite from out little dog.
I hope your bump goes away quickly.
I like the design you are working on; the Lion is amazing.
I like your color changes.
Get better

Maybe Missy got bit by a peeved momma raccoon protecting her baby? But it happening in daylight doesn't make sense. I wonder - if you can't get the medicine in her the regular ways, can it be mixed either into her food, or with something else like hairball remedy paste and put on her to lick off? Big downside - not sure if she's getting the right dosage. Upside - far less danger to you and less stress for her. And you.
I'm glad you're not blue over the greens any more, Kezia looks good.

That looks similar to a bite I had on my arm. I'm assuming it is a spider bite. I used benadryl cream and took a benadryl when I went to bed. It took about 10 days to go away, but left a really hard spot on my arm for several weeks.

If it wasn't for bad luck, you and Missy would have none at all. That is quite a nasty looking thing on your cheek.
Kezia is looking good. I just can't keep up with all your posts. You are blogger extraordinaire! Keep it up.
