Hello people. Is it because my new front crowns would make any horse jealous, the background heartache, the fact I offered to help pay for it, anxiety about not feeling well for months, the visual that haunts me of my Nitzy suffering and terrified from the attack, or ...... just not paying attention to the chart that is the cause of so many stitching errors? WTH??? This very small project had the outline done twice on the right and three on the left. The lowest band was done two and a half times. The top band was changed to make it easier for me so it would not be a three timer. This is a tiny project!!! SO surprised that I did not take a match to it or even fling it across the room.
It's August and I am upset that summer is soon to close. The contractor that promised to build Carole's ramp for the motor chair has failed six times to show up and no one else will even consider it until late fall. We hired this guy in March. Purchasing one is much more money and would not resolve the step at each door. The small porch needs to be raised with a deck to meet the doorway, ramp off of it.
Last year we had a pile of dirt and broken concrete to look at all summer from the sewer project. This year we did as much as we could but can't shovel that much gravel out, still a mess, also hired in March. But I get to sit on my swing and see the gravel, the weeds, the broken stones, and I have two legs that are strong enough to hold my overweight body. So I will bitch but enjoy and feel blessed. Maybe nibble on some grass or hay and see if my crowns' appearance is matched by function.
I used my birthday money to purchase a few goodies, fat eighth of Creme Brulee Tabbycat linen, Heartland, and this chart. Thirty colors in it, how many do you think I will change??? LOL! I do not like script lettering at all, and yet this is my purchase. No explanation other than I am drawn to it. And the NWP coming soon, Mary Carr, AUGH!! Cannot wait. But that means summer will be over.
I have appointments to schedule this morning, and a trip to Walmart for Carole's list and some basics. I hope your day goes well and everyone is safe.

Sorry you've got so much on your mind and causing stitching errors. But yes, at least it's not been lit on fire.
As to Carole's ramp, I hope it's ready before she is to come home. Around here, there are a couple of volunteer groups (retiree group from my former employer, American Legion(?), etc.) that will build ramps. Is there anything similar near you? If so, they might be more reliable to get the job done. Sorry, no idea of the details on who they will build for, or what they charge, etc.
As much as I whine about the damned weeding, I am thankful I'm still able to get out there and do it. And as much as I'm not ready for it to be August, it's that much closer to weeds not growing any more.
Thirty colors in that little(?) chart!? Wow. I predict you'll change either 5 or none.
I think maybe all of the above in your first paragraph would cause you to make a few mistakes. Not to mention worrying about the ramp for Carole.
I'm so glad you have your swing to enjoy, just wish you had prettier scenery to look at.
We need to thank God for small favors I guess. Could be so much worse.
Hate seeing the destruction in Kentucky.
I still haven't been to a dentist...........don't know when that's going to happen
.....maybe when I get a tooth ache.
Take care ! Thinking of you and Carole.
Blessings are wished for both of you.
Charlotte in Va.
So sorry the ramps are on hold...Gail's suggestion might do the trick...hope so. It doesn't amaze me that you have the glitches and frogging. considering
your distractions of late. I am working on a complex design ...had one third
of its lower quarter finished but most had to be frogged because of a one stitch deviation that would have followed me throughout that quarter if not frogged. So frogged it was. Guess so many of us are distracted of late... pure relaxation not easy to come by these days. Be calm and carry on.... Your swing sounds like a good way to do that....Praying for those dealing with the floods
in Kentucky...
Oh I did not see this before Marly! Love, love, love this! SO cool! :)
It is so hard to get anyone to do what they say they will. I made the mistake of paying the lawn repair guy before he was totally done. I should have known better, but I used to work with him so I trusted him...even though it took him three months to finally get here. Well, he was going to show up to finish that weekend...and that was almost 2 months ago. GGGRRRR!
Unlike Gail...I predict you will change MANY more than 5...lol!
I am surprised that the ramp services don't have a little ramp to go from the front door to the porch. When my mother's was installed we were able to have that. Is there a voluteer senior helper service nearby? Perhaps you would have better luck getting the ramp done. I really wouldn't keep such an unreliable workman. I am sorry that little piece is giving you so much trouble. Stitching should ease your mind, not make it more frustrated.
No, the reason matters not...nor will the errors themselves once you finish this little gem up. But for what it's worth, perhaps we could have our own bon fire bitch fest?? Surely, though, they didn't really mess up your teeth??? Say it ain't so. ~Robin~
Hello Marly: I hope the tooth problem is solved; I hate going to the dentist even for routine cleanings.
Nice progress on the Spools Of Thread.
It is sad about Amy; she will be missed.
It would drive me crazy having to look at gravel and weeds, but hey that's just me.
So sad that so many contractors are treating customers so badly, neighbor has a lawn service that does a horrible job for loads of money, I hope Caroles ramp is built soon.
If your husband is a Vet try asking at the Legion or VFW if anyone knows of a good contractor who can come sooner.
Have a great stitchy day.
Catherine
Hope your problem is solved now by this apointment.
I am busy to make my teeth work months by now-- they are to big for my mouth and I cann't eat in a normal way.
Sorry to hear the ramp still is not placed for Carole. In Holland we have problems to contract a plummer-- only a few are there and the are so busy and their prizes are very high.
Your new chart is beautiful and I think you will reduce the number of colors you will using.
Sending lots of love and prayers to you,Truus from Holland
Loe your sampler choice! I'm picking a HUGE one for the next...oy vey! what am I thinking? Hope Carole's ramp can be built sooner rather than later. And the dentist? I can't even think about it.
