And the slowest stitching.
Switched back to Julia's Hunter for a while. Loving these colors on this linen. Being my first attempt at working on more than one project, I didn't realize that notes are crucial to stitch sanity. Not necessary if you follow the chart and colors, but my book's symbols are incorrect and I did not note which colors I subbed for those that didn't show on the dark linen. Or the corresponding symbol. Theresa emailed the correct chart for Hunter but it's on my tablet which is usually out of battery by evening. I'm surprised that no one else has contacted her about their booklet, and wonder why this beautifully printed one of mine is different.

Which leads me to one. Over one. Not only the verse, but the hunter himself, his dog, and a bush. I'm doing tent and think a full cross may be too crowded. The bush, shoes and one leg is all I've completed. I might outline his large coat in tent and try to work a wonky stitch easier than over one as fill-in. It's quite difficult for me to count these rows and tiny stitches so the outline (if done correctly!) would really help.
The flowers in the vase are off one in both directions which threw off the placement of the bush, but there is plenty of room for error acceptance in this repro.
And what else has been happening. The end of zucchini bounty. So I made lemon zucchini breads for the freezer,
and the zucchini chocolate bundt. And what could be better with chocolate than pepper crusted bacon? This is the first time we're having BLTs this summer and we finally got local corn. At end of September!! Watermelon is my favorite summer treat and I ate two a week, until this year. I can't tell you how much money we have spent on bad melons. Terrible. Today, from another Amish stand, I took the last chance of the season and spent another $7. Looked good, cut into it, and it was mush. When you lose a few bucks on something, do you think .... I could have bought a chart? Thread? Packs of fresh shiny needles?
I hope everyone is well and not as crabby as I am.

Over one, in any context, is more than I can deal with these days! You are much more diligent than I am. I would not have noticed the error.
Local tomatoes are wonderful, melons, again not so much. wonder why?
let us enjoy these last days, in Japanese culture this is a firth season. that interim time when the days warm enough for comfort and the evenings cool. Just as our leaves turn the season is mid-way to complete. As a measure, I turned the heat on this morning, it is going to be a long Winter!
Wondering every time that you can stitch over one with your eyesight-- I admire you for that!!!
Looks lovely and hope you will finish this sampler
Please take care and enjoy automatisch time, Truus from Holland
Sorry -- automatisch = autumn

Hello Marly: I do like this design, I have the same question, why has no one else contacted the designer, I am one that notices mistakes too late and have to make room for improvements.
I love watermelon, if it sits in the heat too long it does get mussy, ick.
The tomatoes have been taking a long time to turn red due to hot weather.
Have a great weekend
Catherine
Funny...you don't sound particularly crabby....And how could you be with all those wonderful baked goodies?? I love watermelon in the warm days too...what a treat...but since it's a waste to buy an entire melon (even the small ones) for just me, I have been buying small cuts of melon. None, however, were as good texture/taste-wise as the very first one. Now it's too cold for it to even sound appetizing. Corn is done here.... ~Robin~ (Off to see if you have the recipe for the zucchini lemon bread in your recipes...sounds yummy...but maybe I hope I don't find it as I will then have to plot a trip somewhere to find some zucchini. ~Robin~
I think you've hit on why I don't switch between projects - trying to remember what I was thinking when I left off. And of course my note making is lacking because *of course* I'll remember when I come back to it, right?
I bought a watermelon earlier this summer, left it on the counter for a couple of days only to have it liquify and collapse and ooze all over the counter and floor. I was waiting for local Muscatine melons to show up in store before trying one again, but never did see them, so no watermelon for us this year.
Nope, not heathy. Just watched the home covid test turn positive in front of my eyes. The cold I thought I had is not.
Julia's colors are so pretty!!!
I have gotten a refund on 3 watermelons this year. One from Aldi's, one from Meijer's and one from a local vegetable stand that gets them from Amish country. So disappointing.
Beautiful stitching. I bought a watermelon this year from Walmart and when I cut into it almost a quart of juice poured out and it was just mush inside. I'm betting it got frozen in a refrigerated trailer and no one knew. Haven't bought another watermelon just stuck to honeydew and cantaloupe.
