I gave an Ohio shop several vintage ceramic pots and planters, many in unusual colors and shapes, and I regret that.
I am glad I held on to this Fenton dish, perfect for the succulents. More dirt can be added to the fluted ruffles as the chicks multiply.
We bought Carole this stone dish filled with plants after her first TAVR. All perished when she left home for the health ordeal. These replacements are what she prefers, not the taller or prickly varieties. I separated the chicks and filled both planters, will take them to her house. She wants them at the facility but her room looks like Big Lots clearance aisle and doesn't need any more clutter.
Did I see something about black thread samplers for November? May have misunderstood, but the Stone Street primer is a perfect small one. I have it, why can't I find it online now? They have another small one, I believe the title is Franklin (?) that appears to be done in black.

I hope insurance does kick in for the smoke smell. You'd think they would, and be happy they aren't paying out for structural damage instead. But then, insurance companies' ads always show them being so caring and good to work with. And they are when taking your money, but when it's time to file a claim...ugh! And woe be to policy holders if they have a streak of bad luck, they'll be given the boot fast.
I hope you can get your appointment rescheduled for sooner than later. I guess someone with common sense needed to be at Carole's for the door estimate? I've said it before, will again - I sure hope Carole & her family know how far up the creek they'll be if something ever happens to you and/or Mark.

Good news on the deck being done, and landscaping would be wonderful to have finished up. Is there time for plants to settle in before winter gets serious about cold? Though I guess keeping them watered & mulch the heck out of them would work too. I like the hen & chicks in the dishes. I have a similar white dish, may have to think about doing something similar. I like your new samplers, especially the birds on the 1812 reproduction one.
Aren't those succulent gardens pretty. My beloved grandparents lived in Pittsburgh, and my grandmother always had a rock garden planted with hen-and-chicks and creeping phlox (she called them 'pinks'). There had been a rift in the family and I was not welcome at the funeral but I drove out with my husband (we live 300 miles away on the coast) and while the privileged members were at the funeral reception, we went to grandparents' house and walked all around and took many pictures for posterity. Before we drove away, I liberated several 'chicks' from her garden, and some of the gravel from her yard. Was always so glad I brought them with me.
Very cute idea to use the Fenton glass for a dish garden! Check a thrift shop or Goodwill in your area for more dishes. Glassware isn't bringing much at auctions lately.
Yes there is black November stitching. Jacob from Modern Folk Embroidery started that deal. Good luck with the smoke stink. I just had to walk though the plume of leaf burning smoke so the dog could finally track down a place to drop if you get what I mean, and I stink and now it is seemingly impregnated into my nose, so not pleasant.
