The old vs. the new

Having a number of old black label DMC requires a quick check with the latest sample book.

Visited Carole today.  Made the cottage cheese nalasnecki to share.  Yes her chair is amazing, but we were told it would be the same size as the motorized she was using.  It is not.  Three inches wider and we now need to have the door openings widened.  Plaster walls, and once the opening is expanded the header will lose its support and also not be the full width required.  That plaster needs to come down, new header installed, side 2x4 supports, new door unit, trim, and drywall.  Dammit.  My head feels like last night's exploding chestnut.

Tomorrow, stew in the pressure cooker and the last garden peppers will be used for stuffed pepper soup.  Freezer space is limited so I plan to fill gallon freezer bags with soup and lay flat.

Working on Paisley, a little on Ann.

Enjoy your week, hope it will be warmer than mine.
It's quite fowl.

AUGH!!!!!
It's not easy to spell a scream.

The chair is bigger?! Ohhhh Marly, I can't say how royally that sucks. And now for the house to be ripped up... I assume it's multiple doors too. I think my head would feel like it's exploding too, finding that out at this stage.
That nalasnecki looks tasty, but may be a bit fiddly for my patience right now. Maybe someday.
At least the stitching is looking good. And thanks for the warning about black label DMC. I knew there were dye recipe changes, but not tell old from new.

What a bummer about the chair. It almost seems it would be much easier on nerves, not to mention pocket book to go with a different model. But I don't really know about wheel chairs and their cost. On another note, I love the valance you have in the window. Did you make it? Looks so nice!

Ugh!Nothing is easy, is it, Marly? I hope the door openings can be fixed easily, but I know that once you do something like that it's just one thing after another. Totally understand your frustration--hang in there and enjoy the sight of those comical turkeys ♥

Hi Marly, our weather is foul, too, but without the turkeys! Like everyone else, we went from summer-like to winter! Ughhh!
I’m so sorry that Carole’s chair isn’t what was promised. That seems to be the case with everything these days. Thanks for the heads-up on the DMC.....I had no idea there was such a difference. Take care, Cherie in WI

Can you tell us about your window treatment? What is the material? What do you use to hang and tie back? I think it’s sweet! Thanks Marly

Breathe, Marly. Take care, we're with you, even if it's only by way of the internet.

Wow, you just can't catch a break lately. How awful that all those doors need to be altered. Ugh. I have had the same issue with DMC. Take care of yourself.

Oh my gosh on the chair! My Mom loves her chair.
I love your valence.
I have a lot of the old black label and know the pain of it NOT matching up!!

Shame on them for their error in citing the chair measurements...what a
bummer. Go have a rant and then do the best in making it all work. So
sorry you have to deal with it... enuff is enuff.... Thank you for the
black label info. Nothing is standard or constant anymore... adjusting
has become the norm. You are the queen of making it come together,Marly, and an inspiration in this crazy time. That curtain is darling.

Marly: What the heck is the matter with some people, can they not tell you the exact size of the chair, some people are just turds.
I love the curtains, so beautiful and classy.
Oh the turkeys, do you have a large oven to bake one for thanksgiving? giggles, they can be very aggressive.
